Munich-based venture capital firm Target Partners has led a seven-figure financing round for adeven GmbH, a technology company headquartered in Berlin and London, that verifies and optimizes mobile advertising campaigns for publishers and advertisers in real time.
The financing will support the company’s international growth.
Adeven GmbH analyzes the overall context of mobile advertising campaigns, including the number of screen inserts. The company focuses on apps and mobile websites. Some 30 emerging markets private equity funds raised USD7.8 billion in the three months ended 31 March 2012, compared to 46 funds that raised USD9.9 billion in the first quarter of 2011, according to figures released by the Emerging Markets Private Equty Association (EMPEA).
On the investment side, 198 deals were completed for USD4.8 billion through 31 March 2012, compared to 217 deals completed for USD8.5 billion in the first quarter of last year.
International law firm Eversheds has advised private equity firm Baird Capital Partners Europe on its acquisition of the instrumentation solutions business of e2v technologies plc for GBP15 million. The acquired business will be re-named SGX Sensortech Ltd (SGX).

Quikr, an internet and mobile-based classified ads specialist, has attracted an investment of USD32 million led by Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm focused on growth investing.

Harris Williams & Co has advised on the sale of Silverchair Learning Systems, LLC (SLS), a healthcare IT (HCIT) provider delivering online learning and communication solutions to the senior care industry.
SLS, a subsidiary of Silverchair Holdings, Inc. (Silverchair), was sold to Vista Equity Partners (Vista). The transaction was led by Sam Hendler from the firm’s Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) Group and Cheairs Porter from the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) Group.

Mid-market private equity house Dunedin has sold WFEL, a leader in mobile tactical military bridging, to KMW, a German land defence systems provider. The sale has realised a multiple of 2.4x for Dunedin.
Under Dunedin’s ownership WFEL has seen significant growth in sales, predominantly exports, increasing by nearly 70% to £36.2 million in the year ended December 2011. Employee numbers have increased by around 15% to 228 over this period.

Middle-market private equity firm BV Investment Partners has made an investment in Health Information Designs (HID).
HID is a leading provider of primarily healthcare-related information technology and data analytics services, which help healthcare organisations improve patient health and reduce operating costs. The company also offers insurance identification and verification services focused on reducing the uninsured motorist rate. The investment in HID was made in partnership with the Gibson family, who founded the business in 1979. The company is headquartered in Auburn, Alabama.

Private equity deal volume in the first quarter of 2012 exceeded expectations, according to GF Data.
"Most private equity professionals are predicting a flood of deal activity in 2012. AMETEK has completed the previously announced acquisition of the parent company of Dunkermotoren GmbH from private equity firm Triton for EUR250 million (USD320 million).
The acquisition of Dunkermotoren, a specialist in advanced motion control solutions for a wide range of industrial automation applications, is expected to be immediately accretive, adding approximately USD0.02 per diluted share to 2012 earnings and approximately USD0.10 per diluted share to earnings in 2013.
