US private equity major Carlyle Group is to sell Cogentrix Energy, one of the largest portfolios of natural gas power plants in the US, to Houston-based PE firm Quantum Capital Group, which specialises in energy investments, for $3bn, according to a report by the Financial Times.
Jefferies Financial Group has completed the previously announced sale of Italian wireless broadband provider OpNet’s operations to Wind Tre, a subsidiary of CK Hutchison Group Telecom Holdings.
Eurazeo, through its mid-large buyout team and co-investors, has completed its acquisition of Eres Group for over €350m, marking the fifth transaction for its ECV fund, which is now more than 40% deployed.
Global private equity firm OpenGate Capital has completed the sale of Fiven, a producer of silicon carbide grains and powders, to Kymera International, a portfolio company of Palladium Equity Partners. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
LDC, Lloyds Banking Group’s private equity division, has exited its investment in Hill Biscuits to Cerealto UK, a portfolio company of Davidson Kempner Capital Management and Afendis Capital Management.
Polish private equity firm Innova Capital Group, via its fund, Innova/6, has agreed to sell Optical Investment Group, a Romanian retailer of optical eyecare and eyewear products, to Italian-French multinational EssilorLuxottica.  
KKR has competed its acquisition of Avantus, a US developer of solar and solar storage projects. Avantus has also secured a $522m development facility arranged by KKR Capital Markets and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
Private investment firm Arctos Partners has acquired British Columbia Investment Management Corporation’s majority stake in Europe-focused private credit firm Hayfin Capital Management.
A consortium of direct lenders, including Ares Management Corp and HPS Investment Partners, is arranging a $3bn credit facility to support Carlyle Group Inc’s potential acquisition of Baxter International Inc’s Vantive kidney-care division, according to a report by Bloomberg.
AXA Investment Managers’ private markets unit, AXA IM Prime, has acquired a 20% stake in Rivage Investment, a French private credit firm specialising in infrastructure debt, which oversees more than €7.7bn ($8.3bn) in committed capital, according to a report by Bloomberg.
