Distributed Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm specialising in insurtech, healthtech and fintech investments, has led a $6 million seed series investment in Posterity Health, a digital male fertility centre.
Numerous preeminent digital healthcare executives also participated in the round, including Gerry McCarthy, CEO of Merative, Laurie McGraw, former SVP of Health Solutions at the AMA, and Don Holzworth, serial entrepreneur and Chairman of the Advisory Board at the UNC Gillings School of Public Health.

Groundworks, a foundation and water management solutions company backed by private equity firm Cortec Group’s Cortec Group Fund VII, has acquired Basement Systems of West Virginia.
The company will now operate as Basement Authority of West Virginia (BAWV) and will significantly expand and bolster the Groundworks service area throughout the state. BAWV is the eleventh acquisition completed by Groundworks since Cortec Fund VII’s investment.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
New York-based investment firm Bessemer Investors (Bessemer) has made a strategic investment in RotoCo, the largest franchisee of the Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service in the US and Canada.
Bessemer is partnering with RotoCo’s existing management team, including Founder and CEO, Jim Holcomb, and President, Brian McCann, who will both continue to lead the Company in their current roles. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Unison, a provider of procurement, supply chain, and contract management software to US federal government agencies and government contractors, has secured a strategic majority investment from funds affiliated with Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP), a private equity investment firm based in Chicago.
As part of the transaction, funds managed by global investment firm Carlyle will sell a majority stake to MDP, while remaining a strategic partner as a minority investor.

Quadrata, a passport network bringing identity, reputation and compliance to blockchain applications, has announced a $7.5 million seed funding round, led by blockchain-focused venture capital firm, Dragonfly Capital.
The raise also saw participation from institutional investors such as Franklin Templeton, Abra, GSR Ventures, Orange DAO, Fellows Fund, GreatPoint Ventures and August Capital. Prominent Angel investors include Balaji Srinivasan (FRM Coinbase), Ryan Selkis (Messari), Mathieu Nouzareth (The Sandbox), Zeneca (ZenAcademy) and Wilson Lee (The Littles).

Insight automation platform Zinklar has raised €5.5 million ($5.7 million) in a Series A funding round led by Caixa Capital Risc.
New investors including UK-based Beacon Capital, as well as EASO Ventures, Full Global Investments and CDTI Innvierte, also participated in the rind.
As part of the deal, a representative from Beacon Capital has joined the board, alongside Caixa Capital Risc, Inveready and Zinklar’s founders. Together, they will bring their extensive experience in scaling-up technology businesses.
