Personal care brand Plum is looking to raise USD25 million in a Series C funding round with several private equity funds and growth stage investors said to be interest in backing the business, according to a report by VC Circle. A91 Partners is one of the funds said to be in an “advanced stage of discussion” with Plum, which is operated by Pureplay Skin Sciences (India) Pvt. Ltd.  Previous funding rounds have been supported by the Unilever Ventures – the VC arm of the consumer good giant – and mid-market PE firm Faering Capital.
Middle market private equity firm Odyssey Investment Partners (Odyssey) has acquired Pexco, a North American engineered plastic component supplier, from AEA Investors. Another Odyssey Fund previously owned Pexco from 2012 to 2017. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Based in Atlanta with manufacturing plants in the United States and Mexico, Pexco provides extrusion, design and fabrication of specialty plastic products for a wide variety of applications across a diverse range of end-markets including traffic safety, lighting, fluid handling, electrical insulation, privacy fence, and other specialty industrial markets. FLASH, a specialist in cloud parking software and mobility transformation, has secured a USD250 million-plus strategic investment led by Vista Equity Partners (Vista), a global investment firm focused exclusively on enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses. Vista is joined by existing lead investor L Catterton, other prior investors, and management. The minority investment will be used to expand FLASH’s mobility operating system and payments platform, extend digital services, and invest substantially in talent to support FLASH’s exceptional growth.
Crondall Energy, a UK-headquartered offshore energy consultancy, has secured a GBP1 million loan from the alternative lender BOOST&Co. Logically, a technology company using advanced AI to tackle harmful mis- and disinformation, has completed a USD24 million funding round led by growth investor Vitruvian Partners. The round also included investment from the Amazon Alexa Fund, and existing seed investors XTX Ventures and the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF), managed by Mercia Asset Management Plc. Logically will use the funds to scale its capabilities and drive growth across its three core markets in the US, UK and India. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. TA Associates (TA), a global growth private equity firm, is to make a significant growth investment in Veracode, a global provider of application security solutions. Veracode’s current majority investor, softwares investment firm Thoma Bravo, will retain a minority position in the business. The transaction, which values Veracode at USD2.5 billion, is expected to be completed in Q2 2022, subject to customary closing conditions.
