Mori, a food technology company focused on extending shelf-life to reduce waste and create more sustainable supply chains, has raised USD50 million in Series B1 financing round led by Prelude Ventures. Previous investors The Drawdown Fund, Acre Venture Partners, The Engine, Refactor Capital, Blindspot, Closed Loop Partners, Knollwood Investment Advisory also participated as well as new investors Collaborative Fund and Thia Ventures. Mori’s proprietary process uses just salt, water, and heat to extract natural silk protein that protects food and slows spoilage. German venture capital firm MIG Capital AG has closed a EUR3 million seed financing for French start-up Inbolt.  Led by MIG, the current round of financing involves SOSV, a global early-stage investor, BNP Paribas Development, the VC arm of the major French bank, and Laurent Dassault, one of France’s leading industrialists. Inbolt is developing a novel 3D tracking system for use in industrial manufacturing to digitally support manual operations and minimise errors. SeaBeLife, a biotech company developing drug candidates intended to block cell necrosis, has received EUR1.37 million (USD1.49 million) in financing from Bpifrance.  This financing, which has been granted in connection with the French government’s ‘Deeptech Plan’, will contribute to research into first-in-class drug candidates for the treatment of acute liver, kidney, heart and brain disease.   These funds will enable SeaBeLife to develop drug candidates with the unique ability to simultaneously inhibit necroptosis and ferroptosis, two modes of regulated cell death that are activated in individuals living with certain pathologies. CoinShares, a European digital asset investment firm, has, following approval from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, acquired an additional 20.8 per cent stake in Swiss-based FlowBank.  This acquisition was priced at CHF24,740,000. Following the Company’s October 2021 strategic investment of a 9.02 per cent stake in FlowBank, the deal brings CoinShares’ overall holding to 29.3 per cent, with voting rights equal to 32.06 per cent. To support its own product innovation CoinShares built Galata, a proprietary technology platform that acts as a gateway to the digital asset ecosystem, connecting CeFi platforms to digital asset protocols and markets. Insurtech MGA Loadsure has closed a USD11 million Series A funding round, led by MMC Ventures and Crowley, a global maritime, energy, and logistics company and existing investor Insurtech Gateway.  Loadsure, which delivered the industry’s first transactional cargo insurance platform and automated claims process, will rapidly scale its organisation to accelerate the development of its proprietary smart technology, increase its reach, and better serve the global cargo and freight insurance market through a more efficient, effective distribution chain. Atlan announced has raised USD50 million in a Series B round led by Salesforce Ventures, Insight Partners, and Sequoia Capital India at a USD450 million valuation.  Several founders in the data space participated in the round including Fivetran founder Taylor Brown and ThoughtSpot founder Ajeet Singh. Existing investors Waterbridge Ventures also participated in the round. The latest investment comes just eight months after a $16M Series A led by Insight Partners and high profile angels like Bob Muglia, former CEO of Snowflake.
Audax Private Equity (Audax) has completed the sale of Smart Care Equipment Solutions (Smart Care), a provider of commercial kitchen equipment maintenance services, to Zone Climate Services, a provider of mission-critical refrigeration and HVAC services backed by Wind Point Partners.  Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Since partnering with Audax in November 2017, the Smart Care team executed on Audax’s Buy & Build strategy, completing 14 add-on acquisitions, growing to over 1,400 employees, and completing over 350,000 service events annually.
Capchase, a specialist in providing non-dilutive capital for recurring-revenue businesses operating in the US and Europe,  has raised USD80 million in a Series B investment round, led by 01 Advisors.  QED, Caffeinated Capital, Bling Capital, ScifiVC, Thomvest Ventures, Tusk Venture Partners, Invesco and Gaingels also participated in the round. The additional $80M in funding comes after a year of rapid growth and product expansion. In 2022 alone, Capchase has expanded to the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Sweden and Denmark, and launched its new European headquarters in London.   
CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII has agreed to acquire RGI, an independent provider of software solutions to the European insurance industry, from Corsair, a private equity firm targeting services, software, and payments investments in the financial services market.  Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. RGI provides insurers with a comprehensive and modular offering that addresses the entire insurance value chain, covering processes such as policy administration, claims, analytics, market management, reporting and sales, and distribution.  CVC will support RGI’s management team in its future growth plans, which include further consolidating the fragmented insurance software industry and investing in
Downing is partnering with specialist solar developer and consultancy Ennoviga Solar Limited (Ennoviga) to develop and construct a portfolio of five ground-mounted solar generators that will exclusively serve Northumbrian Water Limited (NWL). Downing’s investment amounts to GBP3.7 million and represents its first investment into solar assets commissioned by a UK regulated utility company.  NWL supplies mains water and sewerage services to 2.7 million people across the northeast of England, with its service area reaching between Berwick to just south of Darlington and Middlesbrough. The solar generators will generate some total of 5.7 MWp of electricity that is delivered directly to
