CellCarta, a global provider of precision medicine laboratory services, and a portfolio company ion private equity firm Arsenal Capital, has acquired Biogazelle (Biogazelle), a specialist in genomic testing solutions.  Located in Ghent (Belgium), Biogazelle develops and deploys high-end digital PCR (dPCR), quantitative PCR (qPCR) and RNASeq assays for its pharmaceutical and biotech industry clients.
Ten Coves Capital has lead a USD50 million series B funding round in TealBook, a supplier data foundation that autonomously enhances supplier data and powers e-procurement technology. Other notable investors include: BDC Capital, Grand Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, Reciprocal Ventures, Refinery Ventures, S&P Global, Stand Up Ventures, RTP Global, Workday Ventures, Good Friends, an early-stage venture capital firm started in 2019 by the founders of Warby Parker, Harry’s and Allbirds, along with debt financing from CIBC Innovation Banking.    Since TealBook announced Series A Funding in January 2021, TealBook has experienced 350 per cent revenue growth.
OMERS Ventures has lead a USD45 million Series C investment round in Medal.tv, a specialist in short-form gaming video clip.  The latest round follows a previously unannounced USD15 million Series B from Makers Fund, Horizon Ventures, Dune Ventures, and others.  Medal has used these funds to strategically acquire the technology, talent, and resources to change how players share and experience gaming moments together.
Nexa Equity LLC, a private equity firm focused on scaling lower middle market software and fintech businesses, has made a majority growth investment in Leap, a provider of home contractor sales enablement software.  Leap’s management team and founders will continue to be meaningful shareholders. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.   Leap is a purpose-built, on-demand software product developed by seasoned home improvement professionals that enables contractors to provide sales bids to potential clients on the spot. Leap’s proprietary application helps home contractors eliminate errors, increase profit margins and present professionally throughout the sales process. The company serves
NewSpring Franchise, private equity firm New Spring’s fifth and newest strategy focused on innovative franchise and multi-unit concepts, has completed a strategic investment partnership with Central Bark, a doggy day care provider. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.     As part of the agreement, Central Bark Co-Founders Chris Gaba and Jackie Jordan will continue to oversee day-to-day operations of the brand while working with NewSpring to help fuel company growth and profitability. Together, they will continue to provide best-in-class franchisee support while making strategic investments in technology and operational efficiencies to maximise the network’s success. 
DAI has acquired MicroVest Capital Management (MicroVest), a lender to responsible finance institutions. The deal expands the capabilities of DAI’s investment management arm, DAI Capital.  Founded in 2003, MicroVest allocates private investments to financial institutions that serve disadvantaged and underbanked enterprises in emerging markets. The company has disbursed more than USD1 billion to some 200 financial institutions across 60 countries to help create economic opportunities and facilitate financial inclusion.         The combination of DAI and MicroVest reflects the two firms’ shared commitment to mobilize private sector capital to create jobs, reduce poverty, and advance the UN Sustainable Development
Private equity firm Growthdeck is to lead a new funding round for high fashion eyewear brand Kirk & Kirk to support the of launch a premium sunglasses range. The company has seen 40 per cent revenue growth in the last 12 months despite the pandemic and believes revenues could grow at a compound annual rate of 50 per cent over the next five years. This is Kirk & Kirk’s second fundraise with Growthdeck, which invested GBP1 million in 2019 and is continuing to support Kirk & Kirk’s progression into new markets as the company looks to raise an additional GBP300,000.
Eruptr Holdings (Eruptr), a provider of ROI-focused digital marketing patient engagement and customer acquisition solutions for hospitals and healthcare systems, has completed the acquisition of the health risk assessment (HRA) business line of Medicom Health. In March 2020, Eruptr acquired HealthAware, another market leader in the health risk assessment space. Medicom Health and HealthAware are highly complementary and the two solutions under Eruptr will allow the Company to offer hospital and health care systems a best-in-class suite of digital marketing solutions at scale. An affiliate of HIG Capital (HIG) has acquired Standard Hidraulica (STH), an international industrial group with a presence in the plumbing supplies category, previously part of industrial technology company Aalberts NV which is listed on the Euronext stock exchange in Amsterdam.  HIG plans to accelerate the Company’s growth and lead a consolidation in its core markets.   STH is headquartered in Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona, Spain), and operates subsidiaries in Pinto (Madrid, Spain), United Kingdom (Leigh, Greater Manchester), South Africa (Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town), and Greece (Acharnes, Athens).
Technology venture capital firm Balderton Capital has led a USD22 million in Series A funding round in Sweep, a carbon management platform for large enterprises, with participation from New Wave, La Famiglia and 2050.  This round of funding follows the original seed round and brings the company’s total funding to USD27 million, less than a year since launch.  Since it launched in April, Sweep has been working with Financial Times Stock Exchange 500 (FTSE) companies each responsible for 30-50 MtCO2e of carbon emissions per year. They have selected Sweep’s platform to help them build a science-based and data-driven climate program
