Global private equity firm OpenGate Capital’s portfolio company, SMAC, is to sell its skylights division to Kingspan Light + Air, a division of Kingspan Group.  The agreement includes the sale of Skydôme, a subsidiary focused on the production of daylighting, ventilation, smoke evacuation, and roofing access systems, and Essemes Services, a division of Skydôme, specialising in the installation of skylights and the maintenance of fire safety equipment.  Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, and the final sale is subject to closing conditions and works council consultation.   The pending sale of Skydôme and Essemes enables SMAC to focus
Lonsdale Capital Partners (Lonsdale), a private equity firm focused on the lower mid-market, has exites its investment in GYG Plc (GYG), a superyacht painting, supply and maintenance company. The sale produces a return of 3x to Lonsdale and an IRR of 75 per cent. Lonsdale invested in the business in 2016 and then made a partial exit in 2017 via an IPO on AIM. Foresight Group (Foresight), an independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager, has invested in Titania Group Limited (Titania), a cybersecurity automation software business.  The investment will be used to support the senior management team in taking Titania through its next stage of growth, assisted by Foresight’s expertise in the sector. Global investment firm The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) has acquired Jagex, a developer and publisher of video games. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, and employing more than 450 people, Jagex is one of the largest and most successful British video game studios, developing and publishing video games on PC and mobile. The company is best known for its online role-playing living game franchise RuneScape, which has attracted almost 300 million player accounts since its launch 20 years ago. UK-based growth capital investor BGF has made a further GBP4 million investment in fast-growth, lead generation technology business, ROI.  This deal follows just seven months after BGF’s initial investment, taking the total invested to GBP7 million. Funds advised by Apax Partners have acquired the PIB Group (PIB), a leading independent specialist insurance intermediary, alongside PIB’s management team.  Funds advised by The Carlyle Group, PIB’s existing investor since 2015, will re-invest for a minority stake. The financial terms of the transaction (which is subject to applicable regulatory approvals) have not been disclosed.    PIB’s executive management team, led by Chief Executive Officer Brendan McManus and Chief Financial Officer Ryan Brown, will continue to lead the business following the acquisition.   Launched in 2015, PIB has grown significantly during Carlyle’s ownership, both organically and through acquisitions. ADM Capital Europe’s Cibus Enterprise Fund (Cibus) has invested in the British polymer production company Aquapak Polymers Limited (Aquapak).   Aquapak has developed a novel biodegradable, non-toxic and water-soluble polymer called HydropolTM (“Hydropol”) which is three times stronger than alternatives and can be easily processed into films, laminates and injection moulds, giving it a wider range of applications.  The base plastic is currently used for dishwasher tablets, ingestible pill casings and soluble stitches. Total Capital Partners (Total Capital) has funded the management buyout of precision engineering business Precise Component Manufacture Limited (PCML). The company provides a range of services including occupational rehabilitation case management and return-to-work support, employee counselling and wellbeing through employee assistance programs, functional capacity assessments and physical therapeutic treatment to disabled individuals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
