DLA Piper has advised European Capital on the sale of Farrow & Ball, a specialist in high quality paint and wallpaper, to Ares Management for GBP275 million.

DLA Piper has advised European Capital on the sale of Farrow & Ball, a global leader in high quality paint and wallpaper, to Ares Management for GBP275 million.

European Capital, a subsidiary of American Capital Ltd, is an investment company for pan-European equity, mezzanine and senior debt investments and acquired Farrow & Ball in 2006.

The DLA Piper team was led by private equity partner Tim Wright who worked with partner Ed Griffiths and senior associate John Pryor.

Tim Wright, who has acted for European Capital before joining the firm, says: "Farrow & Ball is a very well-known brand which has led to great speculation about its sale. We are delighted to have advised European Capital on another successful disposal and the transaction continues a very busy time for the whole DLA Piper European private equity team."

Since joining DLA Piper in September 2014, Tim Wright has also advised Duke Capital and Partners Group on the acquisition of Voyage Healthcare for GBP375 million.

Ian Martin at Macfarlanes advised the Management team and David Walker at Latham & Watkins advised Ares.
