Edwards Lifesciences, a provider of heart valve therapies and hemodynamic monitoring technologies, has elected William Link to its board of directors.
Dr Link is managing director and a co-founder of Versant Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on building early-stage healthcare companies. Prior to co-founding Versant in 1999, he was general partner at Brentwood Venture Capital.
Before his venture capital experiences, Dr Link founded and served as chairman and chief executive of Chiron Vision, an ophthalmic surgical products company, which was sold to Bausch & Lomb in 1997.
Michael Mussallem, Edwards’s chairman and chief executive, says: "We are proud to add someone with Dr Link’s financial, management and industry experience to our already strong board of directors and believe his background complements the group well. We look forward to his contributions as we continue to execute on our mission of developing innovative solutions for patients suffering from cardiovascular disease."
