EWR Neue Energien acquires wind farm in Dorn-Dürkheim

EWR Neue Energien GmbH (EWR), a subsidiary of Rhenish Hessian energy supply company EWR Aktiengesellschaft, has acquired a wind farm in Dorn-Dürkheim, Rhineland-Palatinate, from ABO Wind AG. In a joint venture with juwi Holding AG, the company will also construct and operate a wind farm in Worms.

A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Dr Jochen Lamb advised EWR on all legal aspects of both projects from the start.

The Dorn-Dürkheim wind farm is currently under construction and will be connected to the power grid in 2012. It will have an installed capacity of 16.1 MW. The Worms wind farm is also already under construction and will likewise consist of seven wind power plants, with an installed capacity of 21 MW. The two wind farms will allow EWR to generate 82.5 million kilowatt hours (KWh) per year – enough to meet the annual power needs of over 23,000 three-person households.
