Innovative staffing app, ROTA, has closed its latest funding round with an additional GBP1.8 million in investment.  Headquartered in London, the tech focused firm has revolutionised recruitment processes, through the supply of high-quality staff to leading venues in five major cities across the UK.  This latest funding round saw ROTA secure additional capital from current investors, many from the VC community, together with new investment from several High Net Worth individuals.  The GBP1.8 Million raised will enable the firm to expand its UK footprint and extend its existing service offering, whilst advancing current technologies.  A key focus will be the
TrustedHousesitters, a house and pet sitting platform, has secured a significant investment from private equity firm Rockpool Investments. Founded by Andy Peck and Rachel Martin in 2010, TrustedHousesitters is the world’s largest house and pet sitting community operating in over 130 countries. Since launch, the platform has facilitated more than two million nights of house sitting, saving its members over GBP170 million in accommodation and pet care costs.   The pet services industry, which is estimated to be worth USD180 billion globally, is experiencing unprecedented growth. UK Private equity house Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has led the management buyout (MBO) of Acton Banks Limited (Acton Banks), a UK healthcare staffing business.  The transaction is Maven’s third investment from its buyout fund, having earlier this year led an investment in Manchester-based hardware designer and supplier UAP Limited and Glasgow-based John McGavigan Limited, a leader in decorative technology used in the automotive sector.   The transaction, which includes an investment of £9.65 million from Maven and a significant investment from the senior management team, will enable Acton Banks to continue to roll-out its highly efficient operating model, further
London-based babble cloud holdings limited, a UK provider of cloud-based communications technology, is strengthening its portfolio and doubling its industry footprint by acquiring Birmingham-based Arden Group for an undisclosed sum.  The deal will add strength in mobile and IT managed services to babble’s existing market-leadership in Unified Communication (UCaaS) and cloud-based Contact Centre solutions (CCaaS). It will also double babble’s revenue to nearly GBP20m and create a combined customer base of more than 1,200 customers.   The business has been backed by leading mid-market private equity firm LDC since October 2017 and this is the second acquisition babble has made this
ARX Equity Partners (ARX) has successfully completed the exit of its investment in Fincentrum, an independent financial advisory business operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia respectively.  Fincentrum facilitates the sale of mortgages, life insurance and investment products and boasts more than 3,000 financial advisors and a turnover in excess of EUR60 million. It ranks as the largest, independent distribution partner, primarily for banks and insurance companies, in the Czech and Slovak markets.  The ARX exit was finalised via a 100 per cent sale to the Swiss Life Group, a European provider of comprehensive life, pension and financial solutions. Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Petershill programme has made a strategic minority investment in middle-market private equity firm Harvest Partners.  The passive investment, which represents 15 per cent of the firm, will allow Harvest Partners to expand the ownership of the firm and further develop its platform, building on the firm’s long history of investing in the middle-market in North America. As part of the transaction, Harvest Partners’ senior leadership has made long-term commitments to the business. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Mid-market private equity investor Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) has submitted a binding offer for the acquisition of the whole business of Courir.  The equity value of this offer is EUR283 million.  Equistone has now entered today into exclusive negotiations with Groupe Go Sport.   The completion of the deal, which is expected in H1 20189, is subject to the consultation of employees’ representative bodies and clearance from the relevant antitrust authorities.
METRON, the France-based developer of an energy intelligence platform for industry, has completed a new EUR8 million fundraising. The fundraising includes commitments from BNP Paribas, Financière Fonds Privés, which enables private investors to invest directly in high potential companies, and existing shareholder, Breed Reply, a leading active operational investor in early-stage Internet of Things businesses.   The funds will enable METRON to accelerate its international growth, and the further development of its AI-based energy optimisation solutions. Guernsey has registered a Guernsey-domiciled agribusiness fund as the world’s first regulated green fund. Independent asset manager Dunas Capital has launched the Rainforest Dunas Iberia Fund I FCR, the first private equity fund of funds that will invest exclusively in Spanish and Portuguese GPs. The fund of funds manager will look for investment opportunities in buyout and growth capital funds but will also have some flexibility to invest in venture capital, private debt, infrastructure and special situations.
