SEAF has been appointed, through wholly-owned affiliates, as the general partner and investment manager of the Southeast Europe Equity Fund II and affiliated vehicle (SEEF II).
SEEF II is a USD320 million, 2006 vintage private equity fund that made control and significant-minority equity investments in companies operating in Southeast Europe and Turkey.
The current portfolio of six majority-owned investments are located in Turkey, Romania, Albania, and Kosovo, and reflect SEEF II’s activity in the healthcare, financial services, and telecommunications and media sectors.
SEAF and its team in the region will oversee the continued development of the portfolio
ACON Investments has held the final closing of ACON Equity Partners IV (AEP IV) with commitments of approximately USD1.07 billion, the fund’s hard cap.
The fund represents ACON’s fourth US investment fund targeting mid-market control investments primarily in US businesses.
AEP IV was significantly oversubscribed in relation to its target commitments of USD850 million with substantial re-commitments from existing ACON investors as well as several new limited partners.
The fund’s investors include public and private pensions, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and other institutional investors from North America, Asia, and Europe.

DoFinance has become the first European-based peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform to open a customer centre in Indonesia.

Carlton James Group, a private investment group specialising in diversified portfolios, has launched the Carlton James Diversified Alpha Fund, a regulated mutual fund listed on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange (CSX).

Innova Capital, a CEE private equity fund, is to acquire almost 75 per cent in the Polish seating manufacturer Profim.
The transaction is expected to close in Q2 2017, after clearance by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). The parties have not disclosed the value of the transaction.
Two of the founders of Profim, including its CEO Ryszard Rychlik, will continue as shareholders.

Actis’ newly created wind platform Echoenergia has acquired 100 per cent of two operating wind farms in the north east of Brazil, from Brazilian premier wind developer Casa dos Ventos.
The two wind farms, with contracted 20-year PPAs, total 346MW. Tiangua, located in Ceara state, has an installed capacity of 130MW and Sao Clemente, located in Pernambuco state, has 216MW.
The acquisitions are seed assets for Echoenergia, the fifth such energy platform that Actis has built in Latin America.

L Squared Capital Partners, together with Longview Asset Management, has partnered with Oracle management to recapitalise the company.
Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Oracle represents L Squared’s sixth platform investment over the last three years. Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform TWINO has released the first ever Alternative Lending Index (ALI) in conjunction with KPMG.
The report compares lending environments across Europe over the period 2010- 2016.
The ALI uses information gathered from the European Central Bank and Eurostat, as well as the central banks of the countries outside the Euro area. Schuelerhilfe is a provider of after school tutoring to primary and secondary school students in Germany and Austria.
Established in 1974, and headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, Schuelerhilfe provides small-group tutoring through a network of over 1,000 branches in Germany and Austria and currently tutors over 125,000 students per year.
