Law firm Howard Kennedy has advised Impressario Festivals on the sale of its four festivals – Rewind, Boardmasters, Field Day and SouthWestFour – to media and entertainment group Global.
The sale of the four festivals was completed in early October 2016 and will effectively double shareholder value for the original investors in the company.
Impressario will continue to provide strategic and management advice to the festival operators until April 2017.

Widespread delays to fund launches across Europe immediately followed the UK’s vote to leave the European Union, yet the outlook for the private equity (PE) industry remains optimistic, according to research by offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes.
The research, which targeted over 260 limited and general partners across the world, also reveals that PE professionals expect an increase in UK-based institutional investment, compared to the EU, post-Brexit.

Venture capital firm Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has raised GBP260 million for its fund SEP V.
SEP V, which is one of the largest venture capital funds raised in Europe this year, was over-subscribed and closed above target.
It will be invested in high growth technology and technology-enabled companies based mainly in the UK and Ireland, although investments in companies in other European countries will also be considered.
Investors in previous SEP funds account for almost 90 per cent of commitments to the new fund, endorsing its strong investment track record and reputation. UK investors account for approximately 40

Noerr has advised the financing bank consortium on the acquisition of a majority stake in Betten Duscher by the investment company Odewald KMU.
DZ Bank, Bremer Kreditbank and BHF-Bank belong to the consortium.
Odenwald has acquired the company within the scope of a succession arrangement regarding the new fund Odewald KMU II.
The vendors are the shareholders of Betten Duscher, a manufacturer of bed linen and household textiles from Roding in Bavaria. The shareholders remain linked to the company via a management participation and a continuing interest.

CF Holding (CFH), a portfolio company of Alpina Partners, has acquired the operations of CrossLink Faserverbundtechnik as part of an asset deal.
CrossLink is an engineering and manufacturing business based in Cadolzburg near Nuremberg, Germany.
The company engages in the design, development and production of lightweight composite components.
Its customer base covers various industries, including medical technology, mechanical engineering, automotive as well as security and safety.
CFH is an industrial holding company focusing on the acquisition and development of medium-sized technology companies. In addition to CrossLink, CFH holds a majority stake in UBC, a company in the
Gemspring Capital, a Connecticut-based private equity firm specialising in lower middle market companies, has held the final closing of its debut fund, Gemspring Capital Fund I, with USD350 million of capital commitments.
The fund was oversubscribed and closed at its hard cap in less than three months after the official launch in August.
Gemspring secured commitments from a globally diversified investor base comprised of leading endowments, foundations, family offices, gatekeepers, pension plans and fund of funds.
