The British Business Bank has invested GBP17.5 million in Passion Capital II LP, the GBP45 million second fund from one of the UK’s best known venture investment firms.
The commitment marks the 18th investment by the British Business Bank’s Enterprise Capital Funds (ECF) programme.
Passion Capital is a hands-on investor providing financial support and mentoring at a very early stage, helping to build companies and prepare them for accelerated growth. The new fund builds on the success of Passion Capital’s first fund, which was also supported by British Business Bank’s ECF programme, and backed the early development of high growth
Job matching platform, jobandtalent has secured USD25 million in funding as an extension of its Series A investment, which was previously closed in July 2014.
The funding round is the biggest investment inflow to date for a company within the job matching category.
An investor group by Pelayo Cortina Koplowitz increased its participation and has co-invested with the previous investors, including Qualitas Equity Partners, Kibo Ventures, Fundacion Jose Manuel Entrecanales, and business angel Nicolas Luca de Tena.

Aberdeen Asset Management is to acquire FLAG Capital Management, LLC (FLAG), a manager of private equity and real asset solutions with offices in Stamford CT, Boston, MA, and Hong Kong.
This acquisition is in line with Aberdeen’s strategy to strengthen and grow its global alternatives platform and solutions provision via multi-manager coverage of hedge funds, property and private market allocations, infrastructure investments and pan-alternative capabilities. FLAG’s well-established private equity teams in the US and Asia will help broaden Aberdeen’s private markets solutions activity within the alternatives arena.

After a financing round of EUR2.7 million acquired last September, biotechnology company VitamFero has closed its third financing round at EUR4.3 million.
An additional investment of EUR1.6 million has been made jointly by two newcomers – CAPAGRO and Anjou Amorçage) and by the management team and business angels who had already participated in previous capital increases.
CAPAGRO and Anjou Amorçage thereby join the existing majority syndicate of CapDecisif Management, GO Capital and Pradeyrol Développement.
