Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has completed the sale of Solenis, a leading global supplier of specialty chemicals and services forwater treatment applications, to Platinum Equity. 
Renaissance (Renaissance), a specialist in pre-K–12 educational technology, has secured a significant equity investment from private equity funds managed by Blackstone alongside existing investors including Francisco Partners and TPG’s The Rise Fund.  Francisco Partners, a leading global investment firm that specialiaes in partnering with technology businesses, acquired the Company in 2018 and will remain a major shareholder. Confluence Technologies (Confluence), a technology solutions provider helping the investment management industry solve complex investment data challenges, is to acquire Compliance Solutions Strategies (CSS), a global regulatory software (RegTech) company that enables financial services firms to meet mandatory regulatory compliance requirements.   Confluence is backed by Clearlake Capital Group and TA Associates (TA). Founded in 2017 and headquartered in New York, CSS offers clients a next-generation global RegTech platform underpinned by its proprietary Regulatory Book of Record (RBOR) data management solution. Fast-growing IT services company Acora has made a third bolt-on acquisition since the investment by Palatine in 2020, and is planning to ramp up further deals in 2022.  The latest deal, for London-based M9 Limited, brings a thriving and forward-looking IT services provider with over 40 staff, and nearly 100 long-term contracted customers to Acora Group.  Founded in 1990, M9 has also established a strong international presence with an offshore team in Kuala Lumpur.  Since Palatine’s initial investment of in the Acora Group in 2020, as a result of the three acquisitions – Veber Ltd, Westgate and now M9 Limited
Novo Holdings, aa international life science investor, has co-led the EUR6 million seed financing in Asgard Therapeutics AB (Asgard), a private biotech company pioneering in vivo direct cell reprogramming approaches to elicit potent anti-cancer immune responses. Asgard pioneers a novel approach to cancer therapy by reprogramming tumor cells into professional antigen presenting cells. Asgard’s lead program is an off-the-shelf gene therapy that induces a personalised immune response. Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has led a GBP2.1 million investment in FodaBox (formerly BoroughBox), a provider of logistical services to over 1,400 independent food and drink brands. The investment comprises GBP1.5 million from Maven’s VCTs alongside GBP600,000 from angel investors. This will enable the business to expand its operations, open a third warehouse, develop its software and analytical tools further, and launch its own private-label products. Africa Capitalworks has made a significant equity investment in Dorman Long Engineering (DLE), an international engineering company operating across the oil and gas, telecoms and energy industries, offering high-value engineering services, fabrication, asset management and galvanising services.  A team from Akin Gump advised Africa Capitalworks on the transaction. The investment will allow DLE, an indigenous and market-leading company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, to develop its existing fabrication yards and service offerings as well as support its expansion throughout Africa.
