Amulet Capital Partners (Amulet), a middle-market private equity investment firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut, focused exclusively on the healthcare sector, has closed its second fund, Amulet Capital Partners II. The Fund, executed as a mostly virtual process, was oversubscribed and closed with in excess of USD650 million in capital commitments, exceeding the Fund’s target of USD500 million.  The firm’s thematic approach to healthcare investing, focusing on complex and advantaged situations as well as a consistent approach to driving value post-acquisition, attracted strong support from new and existing investors. European healthcare platform accuRx has closed a GBP27.5 million Series B funding round to transform communication across healthcare systems worldwide.  The financing round was led by Lakestar with participation from British Patient Capital, Latitude VS (sister fund to London-based seed investor LocalGlobe), Atomico, Trusted Insight and Encore Capital. The newly raised funds will facilitate the growth of the accuRx team, enhancing its offering to GP practices and building products that will enable expansion into secondary care.   Communications amongst those involved in a patient’s care is often fragmented and felt by patients in almost every health system across the globe.
Tilla Systems, a new start-up founded by company builder Flagship Founders, has developed a smart platform for the automated planning and execution of cargo ship crew changes.  The company has already secured Hamburg’s time-honoured shipping company Peter Döhle Schiffahrts-KG as one of their first customers. The platform’s official launch is scheduled for this year’s fourth quarter.  Some five million crew changes take place on cargo ships every year. PSG, a growth equity firm partnering with middle-market software and technology-enabled services companies, has made a strategic investment in Sign In App, a provider of workplace risk management software solutions.  PSG Senior Advisor Jeff Gordon will join the Board of Directors as Executive Chairman. In this active role, he will help execute PSG’s strategy in visitor management and lead expansion in the U.S. for Sign In App’s operations. PSG’s Matt Stone, Managing Director, Namrita Rai, Vice President, and Katherine Nimmo, Senior Associate, will also join Sign In App’s Board of Directors. Private investment firm GI Partners has acquired a controlling interest in LightEdge, a provider of colocation, cloud and managed service solutions.   GI Partners’ investment will support and accelerate the growth of LightEdge. GI Partners has invested extensively in infrastructure companies and properties underpinning the digital economy for 20 years. CDC Group, the UK’s development finance institution (DFI) and impact investor, has made a USD60 million commitment under its African Private Credit Fund Strategy, which aims to address a significant credit market dislocation and mid-market financing gap, a situation intensified by the Covid-19 crisis. CDC’s latest commitment covers two investments: a USD30 million investment in Vantage Mezzanine Fund IV which is managed by Vantage Capital, an established pan-African fund manager; and a USD30 million cornerstone investment in BluePeak Private Capital Fund I, BluePeak’s maiden fund.
