The Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) West Midlands Debt Finance, managed by Maven Capital Partners (Maven), and backed by the Coronavirus Business Interruption Scheme Loan (CBILS), has provided ACL Limited (ACL) with GBP500,000 worth of funding.
This recent capital boost will enable the business to push forward plans with product development.
Based in Dudley, ACL is a furniture manufacturer which specialises in the design and production of bespoke fabric and leather sofas and chairs, and currently supply most of its designs to major furniture retailers. Digital marketing agency Brainlabs, a portfolio company of private equity firm Livingbridge, has acquired Canadian programmatic agency MediaNet.
The acquisition signals further North American expansion for the group following the appointment of ex-iProspect leader Jeremy Cornfeldt as CEO, North America earlier this year. Brainlabs’ global portfolio of clients includes the likes of Adidas, Mars, and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

New research from KPMG has revealed that private equity investment, both in terms of value and number of deals, has reached levels not seen since 2017 in the first half of 2021.

MakerSights, a software platform putting the consumer at the centre of retail’s assortment creation process, has secured USD25 million ins Series B funding round led by new investors G2 Venture Partners.
