An affiliate of New Mountain Capital (New Mountain) is to acquire Flexan, a medical device contract design and manufacturing organisation that specialises in silicone, thermoplastic, and specialty rubber components and devices.  Flexan will be acquired by ILC Dover, a New Mountain Capital portfolio company. The transaction is expected to close by August 2021 subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Kraken Resources II (Kraken II) has received an equity commitment in excess of USD400 million from funds managed by Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors (Kayne Anderson), including Kayne Anderson Energy Fund VIII (KAEF VIII) and Kayne Private Energy Income Fund II (KPEIF II), along with Kraken II’s management team. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Kraken II is a private oil and gas company formed to pursue large, oil-weighted acquisitions with an initial focus in the Williston Basin. The Company will target assets that have a significant existing production component and a multi-year inventory of development locations the Kraken II team can exploit.
King River Capital (King River), a technology-focused venture capital firm with offices in Sydney and the US, has held the first close of its second fund (KRC Fund 2), securing commitments of USD95million. KRC Fund 2 investors include numerous technology entrepreneurs and leaders from companies such as Xero, AfterPay, Mirror, and Palantir, reflecting King River’s strong network of relationships across the industry in both Australia and the US. Standard Chartered Bank and Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) have successfully closed an initial EUR1.45 billion ESG-linked subscription facility for ICG Europe Fund VIII. The lending group comprises Standard Chartered Bank, BNP Paribas, ANZ Banking Group Limited, ING Bank, and Royal Bank of Canada. The facility will serve as a key source of liquidity for the Fund, which is dedicated to investing in mid to upper middle market European businesses.
