Apex Group (Apex) is to acquire BRL Trust Investimentos (BRL Trust), a Brazil-based independent fund administrator.
This acquisition reinforces the Group’s intent for the Latin American market, supplementing its private equity capabilities while adding liquid asset servicing capabilities for Brazil and the broader Latin American market. This deal further complements the Group’s previous announcement of its intent to acquire MAF, the fund administration business of the Brazil-based Banco Modal which is currently awaiting regulatory approval.

Sun Capital Partners, Inc (Sun Capital), a private investment firm focused on defensible businesses in growing markets with tangible performance improvement opportunities, has announced that its affiliate has completed the acquisition of Century Distribution Systems, a global digital logistics provider offering supply chain management and freight forwarding services. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Cardea Capital (CC), a USD3 billion, Atlanta-based RIA and turnkey asset management program (TAMP), will use the portfolio stress-testing and risk analytics of HiddenLevers, incorporated within the premier wealthtech platform of Orion Advisor Solutions. In just a matter of weeks after Orion announced its acquisition of HiddenLevers, CC signed on as the first new post-acquisition user of both firm’s technologies.
Already using Orion as the core of their firm’s technology systems, CC plans to use HiddenLevers to augment their own TAMP offering, improve their portfolio management capabilities, and engage clients with interactive portfolio analysis and real-time stress-testing.

Mercato Partners has closed Savory Fund II, its second investment vehicle devoted exclusively to backing emerging and profitable restaurant concepts, raising USD100 million of commitments. The closing of Fund II builds upon the early success of the firm’s inaugural vehicle, which closed on USD100 million of commitments in October 2020.
Limited partners in the fund consist of both existing and new investors, including institutional investors, family offices, and financial services and advisory firms. 72 percent of investors in Fund I have committed to Fund II and will enjoy co-investment rights on a deal-by-deal basis.
