An affiliate of global alternative investment firm HIG Capital (HIG) is to acquire CORA Health Holdings Corp and its subsidiaries, doing business as CORA Physical Therapy (CORA), an operator of outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinics.
CORA’s management team, led by CEO Dennis Smith, will continue to run the Company and remain as shareholders in the business.
Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, CORA currently operates 228 outpatient physical therapy clinics across nine US states, primarily in the Southeast. UK-based fund manager Downing has committed a seven-figure investment to consumer technology company Tactus Group (Tactus).
Founded in 1986, Downing is an FCA authorised and regulated investment manager with over 30 years’ experience. It currently has over GBP1.4 billion of funds under management.
The investment from Downing was made alongside a GBP10 million injection of private capital from multi-family investment office Arete Capital Partners, which enabled Tactus to complete its acquisition of CCL, a Yorkshire-based e-commerce PC gaming specialist. It will also support future fundraising for the wider group as it targets more acquisitions across the UK and globally.
Accelex, a data acquisition, analytics, and reporting solution for private markets investors and asset servicers, has closed a USD5 million seed round of venture financing co-led by Illuminate Financial and AlbionVC, with participation from Expon Capital and SixThirty Ventures.
This financing will accelerate the company’s global growth ambitions through further product development, client acquisition and support. Illuminate Financial and AlbionVC will join Accelex’ Board of Directors as part of this transaction.

Printful, an industry-leading print-on-demand drop shipping and fulfilment company has secured a USD130 million non-control investment from private equity firm Bregal Sagemount.
The financing establishes Printful as the first privately owned company with Latvian roots to achieve unicorn status with a valuation of above USD1 billion. The new partnership will support the launch of additional products and services and the expansion into new channels and geographies.

Private equity firm Supernova Capital has fully acquired Player1 Events from GAME.
Craig Fletcher, the founder of Multiplay and the Insomnia Gaming Festival, will return to lead Insomnia operations following the acquisition. Fletcher will also join Supernova’s executive team and provide the driving force and entrepreneurial spirit behind Supernova’s future plans for live events and esports.
All existing P1E staff will be retained as part of the acquisition and will be potentially working on an Insomnia event in 2021 along with future events planned in the UK and internationally in 2022 and beyond.
