The European Commission has revealed details of its Sustainable Europe Investment Plan, suggesting a financial roadmap for reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. On 11 December 2019, the Commission presented the European Green Deal, with the ambition of becoming the first climate-neutral bloc in the world by 2050.  The plan will involve mobilising investment of 1 trillion euros to help finance its flagship project, the European Green Deal. Middleton Enterprises, a Newcastle-based investment firm, is launching a new fund, building on its successful performance over the last six years. The firm increased its net asset value from GBP95 million in 2018 to GBP115 million in 2019. The strong performance has been driven by Middleton Enterprises’ investment in listed companies; managing a concentrated portfolio of high-quality businesses. AnaCap Financial Partners (AnaCap), a specialist European financial services private equity firm, has invested in a new-build Grade A office building in Paris. MacNeill Pride Group (MPG), a diversified global designer and manufacturer of sporting goods and related products, has purchased Outdoor Recreation Company of America (ORCA), a supplier of premium coolers, drinkware and other outdoor accessories. Foresight Group (Foresight), an independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager, is to make a GBP3.9 million investment into disruptive subsea surveying company Rovco.The investment comprises GBP2.0 million from the Foresight Williams Technology EIS Fund and GBP1.9 million from Foresight VCTs. The investment was part of a larger round totalling GBP5 million which included funds from existing shareholders.
