The first quarter of 2019 broke the all-time record for investment in Europe, with EUR7.3 billion invested (EUR8.3 billion including Israel), and according to a new study by e-front, the global venture capital industry hit an all-time high last year.
Funds advised by YFM Equity Partners (YFM) have backed a GBP5.6 million investment into Unbiased EC1 Limited (Unbiased) an online platform that connects people to providers across the Financial Adviser, Mortgage Broker and Accountancy markets. Zadig & Voltaire, a French brand in the modern luxury ready-to-wear market, is to receive a strategic growth investment from Peninsula, a European Private Equity investment management firm.Zadig & Voltaire will remain majority-owned by its founder Thierry Gillier, while TA Associates, the current minority partner, will be exiting its investment. AvidXchange, a provider of accounts payable (AP) and payment automation solutions for the middle market, has raised USD260 million in equity capital as part of the company’s latest financing round. With contributions from TPG Sixth Street Partners and other investors, this brings total funding to more than USD800 million over the company’s 20-year history. The new capital will fuel AvidXchange’s continued growth and innovation, allowing the company to invest in its solutions for both buyers and suppliers while reaching more customers in the middle market.

Arcesium, an investment management technology and professional services firm, has secured an investment from JP Morgan. The investment deepens Arcesium’s strategic partnership with JP Morgan, including their Securities Services business, a provider of independent fund administration and comprehensive outsourcing solutions to alternative fund managers, asset managers, and asset owners. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

An affiliate of private equity firm Veritas Capital (Veritas) is to acquire Campus Management Acquisition Corp (Campus Management”) and Edcentric Holdings (Edcentric) from Leeds Equity Partners (Leeds Equity).Leeds Equity will continue as an investor in both companies in partnership with Veritas.

415 CAPITAL Management (415 CAPITAL) has held a first closing of its new medtech venture capital fund, 415 CAPITAL Fund I. The new fund will invest in medical device companies in Europe, Israel and the United States, with a focus on startups developing groundbreaking technologies to diagnose and treat Cardiovascular disease and its associated risk factors, including coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, stroke, hypertension and vascular disease. The fund will hold a final closing at up to USD100 million (EUR85 million) later in 2020.
