Souter Investments has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Stone Group, an ICT services provider, in an equity and debt refinancing of the business led by CEO Simon Harbridge and the existing management team.

Foresight Group (Foresight) and Williams Advanced Engineering (Williams) have a made a GBP1.6 million investment into Oxford University spin-out Mixergy Limited (Mixergy), a specialist in smart hot water tanks.
Mixergy was founded in 2014 by Peter Armstrong, CEO, and Ren Kang, Head of R&D, following the completion of their PhD research at Oxford University where the duo originally developed the idea during their doctoral research. The team has since grown to 17 staff and built strong relationships with British Gas, a major installer of tanks.

Cyan Forensics – an Edinburgh-based start-up producing technology to help police investigators find evidence faster – has secured a further GBP1.3m from a consortium of investors.
The funding, which has come from Triple Point Investment Management, Mercia, SIS Ventures, the Scottish Investment Bank and private investors, will support the company’s expansion and allow it to target new markets in Northern Europe. It follows its recent contract with the UK’s Home Office, which will see the technology being used by the Child Abuse Image Database (CAID) and rolled out to police forces nationally.
