Alternative investment specialist Aquila Capital has mandated KlimaInvest Green Concepts, a Hamburg-based energy and climate protection agency, to offset all CO2 emissions related to this year’s Global Summit 2019 by PEI Alternative Insight in Berlin, one of the world’s biggest conferences on infrastructure investments.
The emissions, caused by travel and accommodation of the participants as well as the venue’s consumption in terms of water, heating, catering, and others, will be compensated by targeted investments in certified climate protection projects. The event’s CO2 footprint will amount to approximately 1,100 tons.

BlueGem Capital Partners portfolio company The Private Clinic Group has acquired acquisition of The Cosmetic Skin Clinic (CSC) to create a high-end invasive and non-invasive cosmetic treatment provider in the UK and leader in Europe.

New venture capital fund, King River Capital (KRC), has held first close of its initial fund and the completion of its first two investments in FinClear and Cover Genius.
KRC provides early stage Australian and overseas-based software companies with the capital, knowledge and international relationships to enable global expansion opportunities.
Based on this initial early stage fund close, KRC will be looking to invest in 15-20 companies with an average investment of AUD10 million, over three to four years. Though stage-agnostic, KRC will be focusing on late-Series A and Series B investment opportunities in the technology and software sector.
TPA Capital has completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Pallet-Track Limited, a provider of services to the palletised freight sector. Pallet-Track comprises almost 90 haulier members who leverage the network to provide nationwide coverage to their customers.

Ardenton Capital Corporation has acquired a majority equity position in Manchester-based Budget Trading Ltd and its Dublin-based sister company Budget Greeting Cards Limited (collectively BGC).
Founded in 1984, BGC designs and sells greetings cards and gift wrap, as well as other stationery and celebratory products to SME businesses. It operates eight cash and carry warehouses in the UK and Ireland, employing 180 staff. Last financial year BGC reported sales of GBP36 million.

Foresight Group has made a GBP249,000 investment into usheru Limited (usheru), the firm behind a pioneering technology platform operating in the GBP50 billion film distribution market.
The investment from Foresight, using finance from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, has been made alongside GBP224,000 from Enterprise Ireland, taking the total package to GBP473,000, and allowing the firm to relocate its head office to Milton Keynes. Bertram Nursery Group, one of the UK’s largest children’s nursery groups, has been acquired by its management team in a transaction funded by Apiary Capital and Santander.
Bertram was founded in 2001 by Graeme Scott and Tom Lyons with the opening of the Strawberry Hill nursery in Edinburgh. It has since grown to 36 nurseries across North West England and Scotland, employing approximately 800 staff and with approximately 3,000 full time places.
