General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, has promoted Adrianna Ma to managing director and Jing Hong to principal.
Ma (pictured) is based in New York and leads GA’s global energy and resources sector.
Hong is a senior professional in the firm’s Beijing office and focuses on investments in China.
"Adrianna is an extremely talented investment professional, and we especially appreciate the work she has done in the past two years building out our energy and resources sector, which we consider an important area of investment opportunities," says William E. Ford, chief executive of General Atlantic. "We are very pleased that she is now part of our managing director group. We are also pleased to promote Jing Hong, who has been an important contributor to GA in China and is currently heading our Beijing office."
Ma has led the development of GA’s global energy and resources sector over the last two years. She is currently a director of Gavilon Holdings, an agriculture and energy platform. Prior to joining GA, Ma worked at Morgan Stanley as an investment banker in the mergers, acquisitions and restructuring department.
Based in GA’s Beijing office, Hong focuses on opportunities in the Greater China region. Prior to joining GA in 2008, Hong worked at Warburg Pincus, focusing on growth investments in consumer goods, retail, and financial services sectors.
