Great Point Media (Great Point), a London-based media and investment group, has appointed Jamie Lowe as Head of Institutional Distribution. Lowe will oversee the structuring and launch of Great Point’s global institutional project finance fund which will look to invest in large-scale media projects and finance film and television programming globally. Lowe joined Great Point from The Ingenious Group where he was a board director and Head of Institutional distribution.
Lowe’s appointment comes after Great Point secured its first institutional investment in December 2019 with a USD100 million commitment from US-based institutional fund manager MC Credit Partners.
Jim Reeve, Group CEO at Great Point Media, says: “We are delighted that Jamie is joining the team to help us launch and build our first institutional fund. Jamie’s experience, knowledge and contacts in the global institutional space combined with his understanding of our sector will be instrumental as we continue on our path towards being the leading investor in the media and creative industries.”
Lowe has over 25 years’ experience in investment banking and asset management where he specialised in listed investment companies. He has extensive experience in fundraising and advising fund management groups, especially in alternative investment strategies.
Lowe says: “I am thrilled to be joining Great Point Media at this exciting time in the global media sector. Institutional investors are looking to tap into the potential for further growth in the sector and are already committing funds. Great Point is well placed to capitalise on its leading reputation and track record in the industry and I expect the fund to grow exponentially once launched.”
Lowe has worked in senior roles at BNP Paribas, KBC Bank, JP Morgan, Investec Bank where he was Head of Investment Companies and Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he was Head of Investment Company Product Development and Management with a primary responsibility to develop their range of listed investment companies investing in private market assets. Jamie graduated from University College London in 1991.
