Hahn & Co acquires majority stake in SK Specialty

SK, the holding company of South Korea’s second-largest conglomerate, SK Group, plans to sell a stake worth KRW2.7tn ($1.86bn) in its specialty gas manufacturing subsidiary, SK Specialty, to the local private equity firm Hahn & Company, according to a report by Reuters.

SK Specialty is a gas and chemical company that provides essential materials used in semiconductor production, display panels, and solar cells.

Under the deal, Hahn & Co will acquire an 85% stake in SK Specialty, while SK Group will retain a 15% share.

Earlier this year, it was reported that SK had selected Hahn & Co as the preferred bidder for the transaction.
