San Francisco-based Health Evolution Partners has announced an expansion of the investing team for the Health Evolution Partners Growth Fund, which invests in profitable and growing companies that are poised to become market leaders in the health care industry.

Christopher McFadden, a former managing director at Goldman Sachs, has joined Health Evolution Partners as a managing director of the Growth Fund and will establish a New York office for the firm.

He has more than 12 years of healthcare industry experience as a research analyst and investor. At Goldman McFadden directed debt and equity investments in private and public North American-based health care companies as part of the Americas special situations group.

From 1999 to 2007, he was a senior equity analyst responsible for Goldman’s US health care services research coverage and served as a member of the global investment research sounding board.

David J. Brailer, chairman of Health Evolution Partners, says: ‘Our investment team covers the key sectors, stages and geographies of the healthcare industry. They have lived the challenges and opportunities faced by growing health care companies and understand what they need to do to navigate the current environment. I have asked this team to be relentlessly focused on building the next wave of leading health care brands.’

The members of the Health Evolution Partners Growth Fund team are principal Adam Grossman, senior advisor Braden Kelly, vice-president Brian Kirkbride and senior associates Ian McKelvie and Carter Paine.
