An affiliate of HIG Capital (HIG), a global alternative investment firm with $60bn of capital under management, has completed the acquisition of CHA Consulting (CHA), an engineering consulting and programme management firm.
CHA’s existing management team, led by its President, Jim Stephenson, remain shareholders in the business and will continue to lead the company.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
CHA was founded in 1952 and is headquartered in Albany, New York. The company operates in three main sectors: infrastructure, power & manufacturing, and commercial & institutional. CHA serves clients across diversified end-markets including government, manufacturing, transportation, utility, water resources, commercial and education.
Houlihan Lokey served as lead financial advisor to CHA with support from AEC Advisors, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett served as legal counsel. Harris Williams served as financial advisor to HIG, and Ropes & Gray served as legal counsel.
