Howard Kennedy advises on launch of Maven Income and Growth VCT6’s 2016 share offer

Law firm Howard Kennedy and its regulated London Stock Exchange sponsor, Howard Kennedy Corporate Services, have advised Maven Income and Growth VCT 6 PLC on the launch of its 2016 VCT share offer.

The VCT is managed by Maven Capital Partners UK LLP, one of the largest VCT investment managers in the UK, which manages a further five VCT funds. The other five VCTs launched a joint fundraising offer in October 2015, which was fully subscribed and closed early. Following on from the success of the 2015 fundraising, Maven Capital Partners UK LLP is supporting Maven Income and Growth VCT 6 PLC in its share offer to raise up to GBP15m in the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 tax years.

All the Maven VCTs focus their investments on established businesses looking for growth capital in a broad range of industry sectors, including IT/telecoms, specialist manufacturing, automotive, and energy and support services.

The Howard Kennedy team was led by Partner and Head of Capital Markets Keith Lassman, with support from senior associate Ian Scott and solicitor Sian Thomas.

Lassman says: “We have advised the various Maven VCTs over a number of years, in particular on its previous fundraisings in 2013 and 2014. In Maven Capital Partners the VCT has a strong team investing in some interesting companies. We are delighted to be part of the 2015 team.”

In the 2014/15 tax year Howard Kennedy advised on 27 of the 33 VCT offers with a combined market value of GBP370 million.

Howard Kennedy has a dedicated team of partners and staff advising VCTs, both as legal adviser and as sponsor through its wholly owned FCA authorised subsidiary, Howard Kennedy Corporate Services LLP.  Howard Kennedy has been active in the VCT market place since 1997, listing well over 200 companies over that period.
