Private investment firm GED Capital and KKR-owned fertility group IVI RMA have acquired German healthcare group Fresenius’ fertility business Eugin Group in a deal worth up to €500m, including earn-outs, according to a report by The Financial Times.
Barcelona-headquartered Eugin is a specialist in fertility and reproduction services offering a comprehensive range of treatments and solutions for patients via a network of 69 clinics in 11 countries. The company generated sales of €227m in 2022.
KKR acquired IVI RMA, which claims to be the world’s largest company dealing in assisted reproduction, employs 4,400 people in 14 countries, for €3bn last year, joining a growing list of private investment firms to invest in the fertility sector with CARE Fertility, Generalife and Theramex all having been the subject of private equity deals in recent years.
