KKR has pulled out of a private equity consortium exploring a potential takeover of Gerresheimer AG, according to a report by Reuters citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
Warburg Pincus, which was also part of the consortium, continues to assess whether it can secure a deal, the report added.
Earlier this month, Reuters revealed that KKR and Warburg Pincus had submitted a non-binding offer for Gerresheimer.
The German manufacturer, which produces pens used for injecting weight-loss drugs like Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy, is valued at approximately €2.22bn, based on LSEG data.
The consortium’s bid, priced at around 90 euros per share, would place Gerresheimer’s total value at close to €3.1bn ($3.42bn).
In February, Gerresheimer confirmed it was in preliminary discussions with private equity investors regarding a potential sale, noting that the interest was informal and non-binding.
