LGT Capital Partners, a global specialist in Alternative investing, has hired Wael El Burji as Managing Director and Senior Executive Officer to head and expand its presence in the Middle East.
As a specialist investor with over USD 80 billion in assets, LGT Capital Partners draws on the resources and expertise of its global platform to focus on private markets, liquid alternatives, multi-asset and multi-alternative solutions.
El Burji brings over 15 years of experience in the Asset Management industry. Prior to his appointment, he worked at Amundi Asset Management as Director overseeing the relationship with a range of Institutional investors and leading the Third-party Distribution business in the Middle East.
Pius Fritschi, Managing Partner, says: “LGT Capital Partners has achieved significant growth over the past years both globally and in the Middle East. The appointment of Mr El Burji is a confirmation of our commitment to the region and to the partnerships we have built with our clients there. We are pleased to welcome him on board.”
“The appetite for return enhancing and risk diversifying Alternatives has been increasingly on the rise as the traditional 60/40 portfolio allocation seems to be challenged in the current market environment. I’m happy to join LGT Capital Partners and I look forward to strengthening the partnerships with our clients and to further developing LGT Capital Partners’ presence in the region,” says El Burji.
