Private equity fund manager Pegasus Capital Advisors has announced the appointment of Lincoln P. Bloomfield, Jr., as an operating adviser to the firm.
Bloomfield has held numerous positions in the US Departments of State and Defense as well as the White House, and brings extensive knowledge of foreign policy and international security issues.
‘We live in an increasingly interdependent world,’ says Craig Cogut, founding partner and co-managing director of Pegasus. ‘Linc’s knowledge and insights, and his familiarity with decision makers around the globe, will be an invaluable resource for us. He’s had a distinguished career of public service and we feel honored that he has chosen to join us.’
Bloomfield adds: ‘Successful investing today requires not only knowledge of business, but also the geo-political landscape in which businesses operate. I’m excited to be joining Pegasus and look forward to working with the firm and its portfolio companies.’
Bloomfield has held numerous senior positions in Washington, including assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs, principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs, and deputy assistant to the vice president for national security affairs.
Most recently he was a presidential special envoy responsible for reducing the threat to global aviation from shoulder-fired missiles in the hands of extremists. He is currently chair of the Stimson Center, a nonpartisan security think-tank in Washington.
