Lloyds TSB Development Capital appoints Daniel Sasaki

Lloyds TSB Development Capital, the private equity arm of the Lloyds TSB Group, has appointed Daniel Sasaki as a director of its London office.

Lloyds TSB Development Capital, the private equity arm of the Lloyds TSB Group, has appointed Daniel Sasaki as a director of its London office.

Sasaki will focus on larger mid-market transactions with a particular emphasis on media, IT, telecoms and other business services companies operating in and around London.

Over the last 13 years, Sasaki has been directly responsible for realised investments of over USD500m across a range of sectors in Europe and North America.

He joins from Hemisphere Capital, an independent merchant bank specialising in growth capital transactions, where he was managing partner and which he co-founded in 2002.

Prior to Hemisphere, Sasaki was managing director of Softbank Europe Ventures, a USD600m fund backed by Softbank for media and technology investments in Europe and Israel.

Before Softbank, he was an investment director of the private equity division of Credit Suisse First Boston, a position he held for five years.

Peter Brooks, managing director of Lloyds TSB Development Capital London, says: ‘Despite the current market turmoil, LDC has ambitious plans to take advantage of re-priced opportunities as they arise in our local to London sectors. To deliver this it is important that we are able to attract people of Daniel’s calibre into our team.’

Since 1981, Lloyds TSB Development Capital has completed over 400 investments and has ongoing interests in over 60 businesses across the UK.
