LLR Partners appoints Jack Gavin as operating partner

LLR Partners, a Mid-Atlantic private equity firm, has appointed John J. “Jack” Gavin as an operating partner.

Gavin will work closely with LLR to continue to grow the firm and expand its portfolio of business services companies.

“I’m very excited to be joining LLR Partners,” says Gavin. “I’ve known the partners at LLR a long time and am impressed by their ability to identify and expand successful middle market companies in a variety of service-oriented industries. I look forward to contributing to this initiative, and using the professional expertise I have gained managing and maximizing professional services organisations in my own career to help drive deal flow and enhance the value LLR delivers to growing companies.”

Gavin’s primary focus area will be on business services companies with high employee counts in business process outsourcing industries. This will include call centre companies, facilities maintenance companies, and human capital management companies, among others.

Gavin is the former vice chairman of DBM (Drake, Beam, Morin), a career management and transitions management firm, where he had previously served as chief executive officer and president.

Prior to joining DBM, Gavin spent eight years at Right Management Consultants as president and chief operating officer.

“Jack brings with him a long and proven track record of successful investment, leadership, and growth of business services organisations, and we’re happy to welcome him to the team,” says Seth Lehr, partner at LLR Partners. “He is an extraordinary operator and will be crucial in helping the firm as we continue to differentiate ourselves and seek out potential investment and acquisition opportunities among business services companies in the middle market.”

Gavin serves on the boards of directors of several publicly-held and private equity backed organisations, including Interline Brands, Dollar Financial, CSS Industries, and GCA Services.
