The Riverside Company, a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has invested in Mainstream Electric, Heating, Cooling and Plumbing (Mainstream), a provider of residential HVAC installation and repair, plumbing, electrical, excavation and drain services in the Greater Spokane, Washington, and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, markets. This is an add-on investment to Riverside’s platform, Radiant Plumbing and Air Conditioning, a provider of essential, maintenance-focused home services. This is Radiant’s third add-on, acquiring Schmidt Mechanical Group, in July and Done Services Group, in October 2021.
Recykal, a B2B marketplace for waste and provider of cloud-based solutions to facilitate transparent and traceable material flows in waste, has raised USD22 million in funding by investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley India. Existing investors Circulate Capital, Vellayan Subbiah, and Arun Venkatachalam from the Murugappa Family also participated in this round.  This is the second institutional fundraise by the company following a USD4 million round in 2020.
Ironwood Capital has made subordinated debt and minority equity investments in Page Publishing Consortium (Page), a specialist in the self-publishing services space. Ironwood provided a subordinated debt and equity investment in support of Serata Capital Partners’ (Serata) acquisition of Page. Wintrust Bank is the senior lender.   Established in 2013, Page is comprised of over 10 different operating brands that assist authors in transforming manuscripts into fully produced print, digital, and audio books available on major platforms such as Amazon, Apple, and Barnes & Noble. 
KYND, a provider of cyber risk management solutions for the insurance industry, has secured a GBP3.25 million investment from BGF. KYND will use the investment to accelerate its rapid growth and global expansion plans, as well as continuing to develop transformative cyber risk technology to launch new products.   The company has achieved a 1000 per cent growth on annual recurring revenue since June 2020 and developed partnerships with high-profile insurers and brokers, such as Beazley, Howden, Paragon and Alliant.
Back Market, a renewed electronics marketplace, has secured USD510 million in a Series E round led by new investor Sprints Capital. Existing investors Eurazeo, Aglaé Ventures, General Atlantic, and Generation Investment Management also participated in the round with funds set to be used to allow Back Market to build on its position as a leading marketplace exclusively dedicated to the sale of expertly refurbished electronics.
Mangata Networks (Mangata) has closed a USD33 million Series A round led by US-based venture capital firm Playground Global. Mangata is developing a network of HEO (highly elliptical orbit) & MEO (medium earth orbit) satellite constellations, combined with the power of a terrestrial system of MangataEdgeâ„¢ micro data centers, extending the cloud to the edge of the network close to users. This single core network will to provide scalable B2G and B2B connectivity, that is both affordable and accessible to anyone, anywhere on the planet. Mangata Networks will initiate service for the entire Northern Hemisphere starting in 2024 with its
Quantum Workplace, a provider of employee engagement and performance software, has secured an investment from private equity firm, LLR Partners. The partnership is expected to help accelerate the Company’s growth through continued investment in its industry-leading software platform and sales and marketing engine, as well as in the exploration of strategic acquisition opportunities. Quantum Workplace will also advance its data science-based analytics and people-focused intelligence solutions.
Livingbridge, a UK mid-market private equity investor, has agreed the sale of Carousel Logistics to Danish private equity firm Axcel. The transaction will facilitate the combination of Carousel Logistics and DANX A/S, a Danish-headquartered logistics firm servicing the Nordic region and the Baltics.   Founded in 1986 by former CEO Graham Martin and Michael Martin, Carousel Logistics has grown into a pan-European logistics specialist delivering aftermarket solutions to organisations in performance and life-critical industries. It is headquartered in the UK, with offices across the Netherlands, Germany and Spain, and has 213 employees.    Livingbridge first invested in Carousel Logistics in
Griffin Real Estate has rebranded as Griffin Capital Partners to better reflect its position as a specialist in both private equity and real estate. By changing its name and revising its visual identity, the company wants to highlight the shift to private equity that has taken place in Griffin’s investment strategy over the last years. The change also reflects and emphasizes the strong operational capacities of its team of top-class experts, not only in the area of real estate but also that of private equity.
eternalHealth, the first new health plan to be approved in Massachusetts since 2013, has raised another USD10 million in Series A funding. This additional financing follows an initial USD10 million in Seed and Pre-Series A investment by successful healthcare and tech entrepreneurs last summer. John Sculley, former Apple CEO, is involved in the Series A funding round and believes in the mission of eternalHealth, which is founded by Pooja Ika, the first woman at the age of 24 to launch a new Medicare Advantage Health Plan in the United States.
