Cevian Capital has today completed the sale of its entire shareholding in AB Volvo to Nomura International (Nomura) and Barclays Capital Securities Limited (Barclays). The sales comprises 88.47 million A-shares and 78.77 million B-shares, corresponding to 8.2 per cent of the company’s share capital and 15.6 per cent of the votes.   Nomura and Barclays have committed to sell the AB Volvo shares to Geely Holding, and Geely Holding has committed to acquire the shares following the receipt of necessary regulatory approvals.

Shearman & Sterling has advised private equity firm Marlin Equity Partners on debt financing in relation to Marlin’s acquisition of a majority stake in social media analytics company TalkWalker. The financing consisted of a New York law governed term loan and revolving credit facilities. Silknet has acquired Geocell, the second-largest mobile operator in the Republic of Georgia, after reaching an agreement with Geocell’s shareholders, Telia Company and Turkcell. The acquisition, which values Geocell at USD153 million, will be financed through a combination of debt – a syndicated loan arranged by TBC Bank with other Georgian and regional banks – and equity. Specialist mortgage business, Enra Group, has acquired master broker Vantage Finance. Enra, an Exponent Private Equity portfolio company, has purchased the master broking business from management and existing private equity backer, Chiltern Capital, as part of the Group’s growth strategy. Vantage will sit alongside existing master broker Enterprise Finance in the Enra portfolio, to strengthen the Group’s position in specialist mortgage broking.   The Vantage operation will continue to service existing broker and client relationships at their current location, in the same way, with the existing team, name, and core values. Inflexion Private Equity’s portfolio company Ocorian, a financial services firm, has acquired Capco Trust, a Jersey-based private client and corporate services business. The deal will expand Ocorian’s service capabilities and client base, as well as the scope of its service offering to include expertise in international shipping finance. Equistone Partners Europe has completed the sale of Concept Life Sciences to London Stock Exchange-listed productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company Spectris (LSE: SXS) for GBP163 million. Concept Life Sciences provides integrated drug discovery, development, analytical testing and environmental consulting services to an international customer base mainly in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical and environmental sectors.   The Manchester-headquartered company was initially formed in July 2014 with backing from mid-market private equity firm Equistone Partners Europe. Sentinel Capital Partners has held the simultaneous first and final closings of Sentinel Capital Partners VI at USD2.15 billion and Sentinel Junior Capital I at USD460 million.
