Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, has acquired a portfolio of UK onshore wind farms from RES (Renewable Energy Systems) in one of the largest single acquisitions made by its infrastructure platform to date. The portfolio includes three operational assets: Jacks Lane Wind Farm (six turbines, 15MW) located in Norfolk; Woolley Hill Wind Farm (four turbines, 10MW), located in Cambridgeshire; the recently completed Den Brook Wind Farm (nine turbines, 18MW) in Devon; and the Turncole Wind Farm (seven turbines, 17.5MW), which is currently under construction in Essex.    The Jacks Lane and Woolley Hill wind farms
Pritzker Group Private Capital has completed its acquisition of ProAmpac, a global flexible packaging company, from Wellspring Capital Management. Pritzker Group Private Capital signed a definitive acquisition agreement to acquire ProAmpac in October.   Pritzker Group and other co-investors are now invested alongside the ProAmpac management team, which remains a significant shareholder, continues to lead the company and serves on its board of directors.   Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, ProAmpac operates under the Prolamina, Ampac and Tulsack brands and has more than 2,400 employees across 18 manufacturing locations in North America, Europe and Asia.  
Pamlico Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm focused on growth oriented businesses, has held the first and final close of Pamlico Capital IV at its hard cap with total commitments of USD910 million. PC IV raised its capital in only four months, was oversubscribed and significantly exceeded the original USD750 million target.   Commitments to PC IV came from a group of new and existing global investors comprised of fund of funds, insurance companies, corporate and foreign pension funds, endowments, foundations and family offices.   “We are very pleased and honoured to have received such a high level
Gryphon Investors has held a final closing of Gryphon Partners IV at its hard cap of USD1.1 billion of aggregate commitments. The fund was oversubscribed and exceeded its original target of USD600 million.   David Andrews, founder and CEO, says: “We greatly appreciate the enthusiastic support we received from our existing and new investors. Seraphim Capital has launched what it says is the world’s largest ever, early-stage, space-sector, venture fund.  The fund – focussed on early stage space-related technology businesses – is targeting an GBP80 million final close during the next two quarters and is backed by a GBP30 million investment from the British Business Bank (made under its Enterprise Capital Funds (ECF) programme) alongside smart capital from leading international space companies, family offices and individual investors.   The Seraphim Space Fund will be the first fund of its size anywhere in the world to focus on investing in early-stage technology companies emerging from
Idinvest Partners has strengthened its commitment to financing unlisted European businesses with the initial closing of its second capital growth fund at EUR250 million. The strategy of Idinvest Growth Fund II follows in the footsteps of the firm’s previous investments in the growth sector which financially supports European SMEs, transforming them into global leaders.   The fund targets digital, health, and energies and cities sectors. Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) has completed the acquisition of BUT, the largest furniture retailer network in France, in a 50:50 partnership with WM Holding, a company related to XXXLutz Group.  Sir Terry Leahy, senior adviser to CD&R funds and former CEO of Tesco, has assumed the role of chairman of the board.   BUT operates through a network of 303 stores. The company offers furniture, appliances and decorative products, complemented by financing and extended warranty services.    In FY2016, BUT generated revenue of EUR1.5 billion.
Tully & Holland has acted exclusive financial adviser to Undaunted Holdings, d/b/a Intrepid Powerboats, in its sale to JDG Undaunted, a newly formed company of JDG Capital. Intrepid Powerboats, a portfolio company of Boston, MA-based private equity firm, Fulham & Co, is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of high performance, luxury outboard powerboats.   JDG Capital, a Texas-based private investment firm, targets controlling interest investments in middle-market enterprises.      Intrepid Powerboats’ customer base includes wealthy individuals, professional athletes, Middle Eastern royalty, and well-known entertainment figures.   Intrepid Powerboats will continue to be led by the existing management team.   "Fulham

Australian venture capital funds raised a record USD568 million in 2016 with investment jumping 50 per cent to AUD347 million, according to the latest Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL) and EY Yearbook. Collectively private equity and venture capital raised AUD2.74 billion in FY2016, slightly down from AUD2.87 billion in FY2015.   While private equity fundraising was lower than the previous year (AUD2.55b) at AUD2.17 billion, AUD628million of this is earmarked for growth/expansion deals.   Investments made by the industry in the past financial year grew 5 per cent with AUD3 billion of the total AUD3.7 billion spent
