Law firm Paul Hastings has advised Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank as lead arrangers and bookrunners on the USD815 million term loan B refinancing of Suddenlink’s existing term loan facilities. Suddenlink is the seventh largest US cable operator with approximately 1.5 million subscribers.   In June 2015, Paul Hastings advised JP Morgan and BNP Paribas in connection with the high yield bond and loan financing of Altice’s USD9.1 billion acquisition of Suddenlink.   In April 2016, Paul Hastings advised JP Morgan, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and RBC in connection with the USD1.5
Private equity firm Cinven has agreed to sell SLV Group, a German-headquartered provider of residential and technical lighting, to Ardian for an undisclosed amount. This represents the second successful realisation of an industrials business within the last month, following Cinven’s agreement to sell Italian-headquartered Avio Spazio to Space2 and Leonardo-Finmeccanica on 20 October 2016.   Cinven has a strong track record in Germany; current investments include CeramTec, HEG, JOST, Synlab and Viridium.   Cinven acquired SLV in May 2011 from its founder and HgCapital. Cinven’s industrials and German teams had identified SLV as an attractive opportunity in 2010, developing a close
Maples and Calder has advised Western Digital on the Cayman Islands corporate and financing aspects of the acquisition of SanDisk by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Western Digital Technologies. The Montreux Healthcare Fund now owns the ninth largest care group in the UK following the merger of two of its companies. The ACH Group, which operated 25 residential services in England, last month merged with The Regard Partnership which provides learning disability, brain injury, and mental healthcare.   The Regard Partnership, headed by chief executive officer Sandie Foxall-Smith, provides care and support for more than 1,000 people making the company the fourth largest UK care group offering specialist learning disability and mental health care.   A Montreux investment vehicle acquired ACH Group in April 2014 for GBP40.5 million. SS&C Technologies has acquired CRM solution provider Salentica. Tequity acted as the exclusive adviser to Salentica, which will now become a platform partner to the firm's Black Diamond wealth platform.   The Salentica team brings expertise in providing integrated CRM solutions for both Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Salesforce CRM platforms. The company will operate as a business unit under SS&C and the acquisition will add 30 employees.   With more than 5,000 users and an average firm size of over USD3 billion in assets, Salentica's clients include registered investment advisers (RIAs), broker-dealers, family offices, institutional wealth managers, and trust companies.
LendingCrowd, a UK alternative finance lender, has partnered with the Scottish Investment Bank (SIB), the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise, in an initiative that will see GBP2.75 million invested in Scottish SMEs across the LendingCrowd platform. It is expected that the move will stimulate loans of up to GBP35 million for SMEs while leveraging significant private sector investment.   The agreement will allow SMEs to access loans of between GBP5,000 and GBP250,000 over terms ranging from six months to five years.   Applicants apply directly to LendingCrowd, which will then undertake the appropriate due diligence on each investment case and
Perceptive Advisors, an investment management firm focused on the healthcare sector, has closed the Perceptive Credit Opportunities Fund, which provides private credit to healthcare companies.  The fund and related entities have USD323 million in investor commitments, exceeding the USD300 million target.   The fund's global investor base includes endowments, family offices and institutional investors.   It is focused on providing customised debt financing solutions to healthcare companies across all stages and subsectors, including biopharma, medical devices, diagnostics, life science research and healthcare information technology.    The fund partners with small and medium-sized companies to provide capital ranging from USD10 million
Investec Aviation Finance, a unit of Investec Bank, has sold out of Goshawk Aviation and Goshawk Management Holdings (Manco) to its co-shareholders Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE) and NWS. Co-investors CTFE and NWS each have increased their respective stakes in Goshawk and Manco from 40 per cent to 50 per cent through the sale by Investec.   Goshawk is the third aircraft leasing platform Investec has established, the other two being Investec Global Aircraft Fund and Investec Aircraft Syndicate, both of which are still wholly managed by Investec.    Combined, these three leasing platforms have to date invested in over
UK Green Investment (GIB) is to provide Kent County Council with a GBP10.2 million green loan to help finance the local authority’s GBP40 million streetlight conversion programme. The project involves the replacement of 120,000 traditional streetlights with energy-saving LED alternatives and the installation of a central management system (CMS), increasing the efficiency of the local authority’s lighting stock while making it easier to manage.   The council estimates that the programme will reduce annual electricity consumption by 60 per cent and cut maintenance costs, resulting in anticipated savings in excess of GBP5 million per year. Apogee has completed the acquisition of Direct Business Systems (DBS), an independent provider of multi-functional copiers, printers, scanners and support services based in Glasgow. Established in 1995, DBS is a family-led business with clients such as distillers Whyte&Mackay, charity Sense Scotland and logistics specialist Malcolm Group.   DBS provides technology from four different manufacturer partners and the service operation supports an installed base of nearly 1,500 devices.   DBS will be fully integrated into the Apogee Group and directors Eric Chambers and Anne Chambers will continue to lead the business in Glasgow.   The acquisition comes after Apogee secured a
