Orion Labs has secured USD9 million in new financing from Avalon Ventures and Motorola Solutions Venture Capital.

Advantage Capital Agribusiness Partners has made a second investment in American Botanicals, a Missouri-based supplier of bulk herbs and botanical products, to help fund the acquisition of Aloha Medicinals, a biotechnology company focused on medicinal mushroom production.
American Botanicals buys, processes, sells and exports hundreds of roots, herbs, barks, berries and other botanical products, which are purchased directly from U.S. farmers and dealers and used in products ranging from food to nutritional supplements by the company’s more than 400 customers. Over 90 percent of these natural items are collected in the wild.

KKR has acquired an approximate 9.95 per cent stake in Max Financial Services, the newly demerged entity of the Max Group that owns an approximate 72 per cent stake in Max Life, India’s fourth-largest private life insurance player.
KKR acquired its stake from a sponsor group led by Analjit Singh, Chairman Emeritus of the Max Group.
KKR made its investment from its Asian Fund II through the portfolio investment route. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Securus Group was formed in 2008 by Managing Director Stuart Glover, supported by funding from Infinity Asset Management. Since then it has grown rapidly through a combination of organic growth and ten acquisitions combining to create a full national service platform under the Securus Group brand.
The GBP25 million six-year senior secured
Sertec Group Holdings, a manufacturer of stampings and welded assemblies, has secured a GBP20 million funding package from BGF (Business Growth Fund) and Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking to support the management team’s continuing expansion plans for the 54 year old business.
The Coleshill headquartered manufacturer is a key supplier partner to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) among others, producing over three million parts per week from aluminium and steel across its five operating sites in Birmingham. The business has enjoyed significant growth over the last eight years with sales rising from GBP40 million in 2008 to close to GBP200 million today.
BDC Capital has launched IT Venture Fund II, a new CAD150 million venture capital fund for the Canadian information technology (IT) sector.
This second fund brings the amount under management by the BDC Capital IT Venture Fund group to CAD300 million, all of which is helping to build and support a new generation of global Canadian IT market leaders.
