LiveAction, an enterprise IT network visibility software platform, has secured USD36 million in a Series B financing round led by venture capital and private equity firm Insight Venture Partners led the investment round with participation from prior investors Accelerate-IT Ventures and Cisco Investments. Nexif Energy, a Southeast Asian independent power producer backed by private equity firm Denham Capital, has taken controlling interest in the 30 megawatt (MW) Coc San hydro power project in Vietnam through the acquisition of a majority ownership of Viet Hydro Pte Ltd. Investindustrial has held EUR2.0 billion closing of Investindustrial VI (Fund VI), the largest private equity fund focused primarily on Southern Europe. The fund was marketed over three months and reached its hard cap with significant additional interest. The investor base is made up of 47 long-term investors. 54 per cent of the capital comes from European investors, 41 per cent from the United States and 5 per cent from the rest of the world. 

Fund VI will continue to pursue majority investments in quality European mid-market companies, typically headquartered in Italy, Spain, Portugal or Switzerland, and with strong internationalisation potential. 

Global sportswear brand, SKINS, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. SKINS is working with Seedrs (and partner company, Equitise in Australia and New Zealand) to launch the GBP2 million fundraising campaign. SKINS, which was founded in 1996 and currently sells products in 43 countries, has become famous in recent years for a number of activist initiatives in the world of sport, including, most notably, its role in calling for reform in FIFA last year. Diligent Corporation, a provider of secure online collaboration and document sharing solutions for boards, committees and leadership teams, is to be acquired by private equity firm Insight Venture Partners. Under the terms of the agreement, Diligent stockholders will receive USD4.90 (NZD7.391) in cash for each share of Diligent stock, a consideration which values Diligent at approximately USD624 Million (approximately NZD941 Million1), including cash. The Diligent Board of Directors has unanimously approved the transaction and resolved to recommend that stockholders vote in favour of the agreement. The transaction represents a 31 per cent premium over the closing share price of NZD5.64
Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has advised specialist financial services private equity fund AnaCap Financial Partners on the close of its third Guernsey flagship fund, AnaCap Financial Partners III. Three Hills Capital Partners has closed a EUR60 million investment in Aquafil SpA. The deal was financed with EUR35m from Three Hills Capital Partners’ funds, while the remaining capital was provided by high-calibre co-investors. Aquafil is a world leading player in the production of nylon filaments for textile floorings and of synthetic fibres for the apparel and sports industries. Energy-focused private equity firm First Reserve has acquired the Mariah North Wind power project from Mariah Acquisition. Upon completion, Mariah North Wind is expected to generate 230 MW of wind power, serving the high-demand ERCOT market in Parmer County, Texas, with a 13-year, fixed price hedge for its power production. The project will also construct and own a 27 mile, 345 kV transmission line to interconnect with the ERCOT CREZ system and is the first phase of an expected 600 MW development.
