The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), the body responsible for ensuring the operational integrity of the Global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) System, has launched its data quality management program.
Based on a set of clearly defined criteria, the program allows the quality of the LEI data pool (the publicly available information on legal entities identifiable with an LEI) to be monitored, assessed and further optimised. The first monthly report, published today, reflects the very high level of data quality already achieved in the Global LEI System.

Xignite, a provider of market data cloud solutions for financial institutions and financial technology companies, has raised USD20.5 million in a Series C funding round led by Tokyo-based QUICK Corporation, part of the Nikkei Group and Japan’s largest financial information provider.
StarVest Partners, Altos Ventures, and Startup Capital Ventures, Xignite’s current investors, also participated. This new round brings Xignite’s total funding to USD37 million.
In connection with the capital raise, Xignite and QUICK will be partnering to deliver Xignite’s cloud-based data solutions in the Asian market as well as QUICK’s proprietary financial data and information through Xignite’s market leading APIs.

Private equity investor Adveq has held the final closing of two funds, – Adveq Specialized Investments and Adveq Europe Co-Investments – at EUR 323 million and EUR 102 million, respectively.
Both funds held their final closings in January 2016, attracting interest and support from investors around the world, including pension funds, insurance companies and family offices.
Today’s announcement comes following a strong 2015 for Adveq, marked by record fundraising.

Piper, a specialist investor in consumer brands has led a GBP20 million investment into British affordable luxury jewellery brand, Monica Vinader.
Alongside its own investment of GBP14 million, Piper has brought in US consumer specialist Winona Capital, who have invested GBP6m to help accelerate growth in the US.

Archangels, the Scottish-based business angel investing syndicate, and Scottish Investment Bank (SIB) have committed to four further rounds of investment support for expanding Scottish businesses with additional funding totalling GBP3.9 million.
The additional cash will be used by Blackford Analysis, Fios Genomics, PowerPhotonic and Administrate to fund further growth through such areas as research & development, product development, sales and marketing.
