Private equity fund manager Clessidra SGR is to acquire a majority equity stake in the Florentine maison Roberto Cavalli.
Founded in Florence in the seventies, Roberto Cavalli has become a brand of reference in the international luxury goods market, thanks to an extensive network of about 200 mono-brand boutiques.

SK Capital Partners has closed its previously announced acquisition of a controlling interest in AEB Group, a spcecialist in wine ingredients with growing positions in beer ingredients and food detergents.

Merger and acquisition activity has held up in the UK during the first quarter of 2015 despite the uncertainty created by the election, according to the latest PCPI/PEPI Index from BDO Corporate Finance.
The index, which tracks the multiples paid by trade and private equity buyers for private companies found that private equity buyers are paying more than the previous quarter – 10.9x up from 9.5x while trade buyers are paying less – 9.2x down from 11.7x. London-listed private equity fund JZ Capital Partners has acquired SAC, an operational van leasing company based south of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Led by CEO Rene Ubbesen, who has been with SAC and its predecessor company for over 20 years, SAC’s business model is based on flexible short and long term leases with an average lease period of approximately four years. SAC controls the full life cycle of its product, including procurement, financing, service & warranty and resale.
JZCP acquired 45 per cent of SAC through its EuroMicrocap Fund for approximately EUR2.8 million. Furthermore, JZCP also acted as mezzanine lender, providing EUR4.8

Q1 2015 has seen a marked drop in the number of private equity funds closed, down from 324 in Q4 2014 to just 166 in the first quarter of the new year (Fig. 1). The transaction is expected to close within approximately 30 days, following satisfaction of customary conditions. President and CEO Peter Segall will continue to lead HealthcareSource following the transaction.
