OpenFin, a provider of HTML5 runtime technology for the financial industry, has raised USD3.0 million in additional financing.  The round was co-led by Bain Capital Ventures, Pivot Investment Partners and Nyca Partners, with participation from 20 senior financial industry executives including Cris Conde, former CEO of SunGard and Tom Glocer, former CEO of Thomson Reuters. The funds will be used for product development and engineering team expansion in both New York and London. Investment management sector technology specialist RFA (Richard Fleischman & Associates) has launched a new data governance solution for the alternative asset industry.  The data governance service extends the full functionality previously only offered by enterprise level data governance services to the alternative asset industry at a significantly lower price point. The RFA Data Governance service reports on permission structures and monitors and logs data access, and generates real time alerts based on the criteria set by the client. Clients located in the United States and the United Kingdom will be able to access the new service in a subscription format
Investors’ plans for future activity in the private debt space are revealed in this extract from the Preqin Quarterly Update: Private Debt, Q1 2015. Investors surveyed by Preqin in Q1 2015 conveyed a strong appetite for exposure to private debt funds, with 57 per cent of respondents expecting to increase their allocation within the next 12 months (Fig. 1). An even larger proportion (65 per cent) expects to increase their allocation to private debt in the longer term, while only 8 per cent expect to decrease their exposure. Law firm Paul Hastings is representing Fosun International, the largest private-owned conglomerate in China, on its participation in the acquisition of Cirque Du Soleil.  Fosun is a member of the buyer consortium backed by American buyout fund, TPG Capital.  The consortium signed definitive agreements with the owners of Cirque Du Soleil and the consummation of the acquisition is subject to customary conditions.   Cirque Du Soleil is a globally renowned performance troupe and is the world’s largest theatrical production company.

B Riley Financial has formed Great American Capital Partners (GACP) with an anchor investment from Corporate Capital Trust, a business development company advised by CNL Financial Advisors Company and KKR Credit Advisors (US) LLC. GACP will focus on providing asset-based debt opportunities targeting lower middle market companies. It will utilise the wide array of diversified financial and business advisory services provided by the B Riley Financial platform, which includes a network of over 200 finance professionals for proprietary deal flow sourcing and in-house valuation and appraisals expertise. GACP is led by John Ahn, President, and Stuart Armstrong, Chief Investment Officer.
