Buy-and-build credit and information services business, CSH, has acquired P:Cubed, a South African marketing service provider, for just under ZAR350 million (USD30 million). These businesses have taken this step in order to support an enhanced and more efficient credit and marketing services platform offering for their clients.   CSH, the holding company for Compuscan, ScoreSharp and Compuscan Academy is pleased to welcome P:Cubed into the Group. Palatine Private Equity has backed Character World, a UK-based licensed bedding specialist, in a GBP36m secondary management buyout. The Cheadle-based company, which employs 74 UK staff and eight in China, is led by brothers Mark and Danny Schweiger. The deal sees an exit for RJD Partners who funded a management buyout with the Schweigers in 2008.      Founded in 1998, Character World works with some of the world’s leading character, gaming and music entertainment companies, providing licensed bedding and associated homeware products for a wide range of children’s age groups from preschool up to students. The latest figures for Jersey’s finance industry reflect a particularly strong performance for the funds sector, with the value of funds business in the island reaching the highest level in five years. The statistics highlight that the net asset value (NAV) of regulated funds increased by GBP5 billion in the third quarter of 2014, and by around 5.5% year-on-year, to reach just over GBP205 billion, the highest figure since March 2009. Lion Capital is to acquire PittaRosso from 21 Investimenti SGR (“21 Investimenti”), a leading mid-market European private equity group, and other minority shareholders including members of the founding family.  21 Investimenti will support Lion Capital and the management, retaining a minority stake in the business. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in the 1920’s by the Pittarello family and transformed into a solid family-run retail chain, PittaRosso was acquired by 21 Investimenti in 2011. Nordic Capital Fund V has sold its entire holding of 7,627,620 shares in Bufa Holding (20.0%, to institutional investors. Nordic Capital no longer holds any shares in the company. Bufab was acquired by Nordic Capital in early 2005 through a public offering for Finnveden which was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange at the time. Shortly thereafter, Bufab became a stand-alone company with an independent management and board of directors. THL Credit has formed a joint venture with Perspecta Trident, an affiliate of Perspecta Trust, to create THL Credit Logan JV.  The new joint venture is expected to invest primarily in senior secured first lien loans to middle market companies and other corporate debt investments, consistent with THL Credit's origination and underwriting strategy.
