Private equity firm Sycamore Partners has completed its acquisition of The Jones Group, a designer and marketer of clothes and shoes, in a transaction valued at approximately USD2.2bn.

Maven Capital Partners has invested GBP7.5m in support of the GBP14m MBO of Rmec Ltd, a specialist mechanical and hydraulic engineering company.
This is the private equity firm’s seventh oil and gas transaction over the past nine months, and takes Maven’s recent investments in energy services companies that are active in the north-east of Scotland to GBP30m.
Rmec specialises in the manufacture, maintenance, repair, testing, recertification and rental of well services equipment for the oil and gas industry, and has 20 staff and a turnover of GBP9m for FY14.

Gatehouse Bank, a wholesale Shariah-compliant investment bank based in the City of London, has completed the sale of its Rolls Royce manufacturing and logistics facility in Scotland.
The total amount of the sale reached GBP55m, which yielded a profit on equity of 29.2 per cent post costs and taxes and an IRR of 10.3 per cent.

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus is to acquire a majority stake in mercator, a provider of software and technology-enabled outsourcing solutions to the global aviation industry, from dnata.
dnata will retain a minority stake.

Albert Medical Devices (AMD) has secured GBP940,000 in funding supported by the Angel CoFund, the GBP100m government and British business bank-backed fund, alongside existing investors North West Fund for Biomedical (managed by SPARK Impact) and the London Business Angels.
This is the third round of funding for the Liverpool-based med-tech company, who in April 2012 successfully raised a seed round of GBP300,000 from SPARK Impact’s North West Fund for Biomedical (the fund having collectively invested GBP680,000).

Waterton Global Resource Management has held the final closing of its flagship private equity fund, Waterton Precious Metals Fund II (Fund II), with total capital commitments of USD1.016bn.
With Fund II, Waterton Global aims to continue investing in the metals and mining space.
Fund II will generally target production and late-stage development assets in the precious metals sector that are located in politically stable jurisdictions, through acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships.

West Partners has closed an investment in NoteVault, a San Diego-based provider of voice-to-text-based mobile reporting solutions for the engineering and construction industry.
Terms of the investment have not been disclosed.
NoteVault offers construction companies a cloud-based subscription solution that enables users to post real-time notes throughout the day by typing, texting, or speaking into a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet.

Cinven has decided to roll its entire residual holding in Numericable into Altice following Altice/Numericable’s agreement to acquire SFr from Vivendi.
Cinven and Altice created Numericable via a series of acquisitions through a classic “buy and build” strategy, latterly in partnership with Carlyle.
Cinven (70 per cent) and Altice (30 per cent) initiated together in 2005 the creation of Numericable Group via the acquisition of Numericable in March 2005 and Altice One, acquired in November 2005.
The group consolidation took numerous steps involving five acquisitions and seven re-financings from 2005 to 2013.
