ZEFR, a platform that builds social marketing and rights management software for online video, has raised USD30m in a new financing led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP).
Existing investors US Venture Partners, Shasta Ventures, First Round Capital and Richmond Park Partners also participated.
In conjunction with the financing, IVP general partner Dennis Phelps has joined ZEFR’s board of directors.
The new capital will be used to drive the company’s software development and grow its sales and marketing teams.

Venture capital fund Electranova Capital has invested in the German company Sunfire.
Total Energy Ventures, the venture capital arm of the French major oil company, is also participating in this new round.
Sunfire develops high temperature fuel cells (SOFC) which convert gas into electricity and heat for several markets (such as micro CHP, off-grid, marine and IT servers) as well as high temperature electrolysers (SOEC) which produce hydrogen from water and electricity that can be used in industrial sites, H2 mobility, “power-to-gas” and “power-to-liquids” installations.

Energy-focused private equity firm Intervale Capital has closed the Intervale Capital Fund III with capital commitments of USD495m raised in less than five months, surpassing its target of USD400m.
Fund III brings the cumulative funds raised by Intervale to USD1.2bn, including USD281m for its first fund in 2008 and USD376m for its second fund in 2012.
Fund III will employ the approach developed in Intervale's first two funds of executing privately negotiated, control investments in lower middle-market companies in the oilfield services (OFS) industry, located predominantly in North America and Europe. Private equity firm Tower Three Partners has made an investment in The Paslin Company, a privately held automotive business headquartered in Warren, Michigan.
The Paslin Company, founded by the Pasque family in 1936, designs, assembles and integrates robotic assembly lines for Tier One and OEM, or original equipment manufacturer, automotive companies.

GE Energy Financial Services has made its first equity investment in Ireland’s wind power market by acquiring two wind farm construction projects that will be powered by the GE’s flagship 2.85MW wind turbines.
With a combined capacity of 51 megawatts, the wind farms, acquired from Element Power and now under construction, will help Ireland meet its renewable energy generation targets, produce power for thousands of homes, and reduce electricity costs for Irish consumers.
Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.

A fund managed by Andean private equity investment manager Ashmore Colombia has agreed the sale of 100 per cent of Lazus SAS, formerly Promitel Colombia SAS, to Columbus International.
Lazus started operations in 2001 and today operates metropolitan fibre optic networks in 10 cities in Colombia. Lazus also owns and operates telecommunication systems in Panama City, Panama and San Jose, Costa Rica with growing operations in Peru.
Lazus’ fibre-based network spans approximately 3,500 kilometres across 12 cities represented by a cumulative population base of nearly 23 million people.

Sports nutrition brand Grenade has secured investment from Grovepoint Capital in a deal led by international investment bank Altium.
This is Altium’s latest transaction in the sports nutrition market following the sale of sports supplements business CNP Professional to First Milk in 2012 and the sale of online retailer Myprotein.com to The Hut Group, the previous year.
Coventry-based Grenade was founded in 2009 and develops and markets a range of high quality, own brand sports nutrition products to customers both in the UK and internationally.

Nottinghamshire-based door manufacturer Door-Stop International has been acquired by Canadian trade buyer Masonite International for GBP30m, in a deal advised by Clearwater Corporate Finance.
Established in 2008, Door-Stop is a UK manufacturer and distributor of high quality “ready-to-fit” composite exterior residential doorsets with an expanding nationwide customer base of trade fabricators, installers and specialist retailers.
The business employs 200 staff and recorded revenue of GBP25m in 2013.
Door-Stop will remain trading as normal and all staff will continue in their roles at its facility in Huthwaite, North Nottinghamshire.
