H2O.ai, an AI cloud specialist, has closed USD100 million in Series E funding led by Australia’s largest bank, customer Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). H2O.ai has now raised over USD250 million and is valued at USD1.7 billion.

Arlington Capital Partners’ (Arlington) portfolio company, BlueHalo (the Company), a provider of advanced engineering solutions and technology to the national security community, has acquired Citadel Defense Company (Citadel).
Headquartered in San Diego, CA, Citadel develops advanced counter unmanned aerial systems (cUAS) technology utilised by customers within the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, as well as civilian, commercial, and international markets. Founded in 2016, Citadel’s team of engineers and data scientists has developed best-of-breed cUAS products that leverage proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) algorithms to enable operators to locate drone threats, track flight paths, and autonomously neutralise threats.
Middle market private equity firm One Equity Partners (OEP) has completed the acquisition of USNR, the world’s most comprehensive supplier of equipment and technologies for the wood processing industry, and Wood Fiber Group, a manufacturer and supplier of sawmill consumables, parts, and services.
OEP subsequently merged the two businesses to a frontrunner for wood processing equipment and aftermarket parts & consumables, with projected 2021 revenues greater than USD500 million. Financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Econergy, an investor, developer and operator in renewable energy projects across Europe, has completed an acquisition from Portland Trust of a ready-to-build 155MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in northwest Romania with Nofar Energy.
The total investment in the Rătești solar project will be EUR100 million and will see Econergy and Nofar Energy acquire a 50 per cent stake each in the project from Portland Trust. Econergy will also provide the management services, including EPC and O&M negotiations, construction management and PPA and project finance management. Once operational, Econergy shall also provide a long-term Asset Management service.
