EagleTree Capital (EagleTree), on behalf of its private equity fund EagleTree Partners V, has acquired Lignetics, a consumer-focused wood pellet manufacturer in the US, from Taglich Private Equity and Mill Road Capital.  Lignetics will be a new platform investment in the EagleTree portfolio, and Lignetics’ operations, management team and personnel will remain unchanged following the EagleTree investment. Co-investors, including Alpha Associates, Bullingham Capital, Farol Asset Management, Manulife Investment Management, Misland Capital, Northwestern Mutual Capital, and Thrivent Financial, are investing alongside EagleTree. Funds affiliated with Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) have agreed to acquire Tricor Group (Tricor), an Asian business expansion specialist, from global private equity firm investment Permira.  The transaction is expected to close in H1 2022 subject to regulatory approvals. The transaction values Tricor at an enterprise value of USD2.76 billion. BlackRock has achieved a USD673 million final fundraise for the Climate Finance Partnership (CFP), a flagship public-private finance vehicle focused on investing in climate infrastructure across emerging markets to help accelerate the global transition to a net zero economy.  A global consortium of 22 investors including governments, philanthropies, and institutional investors committed to the fundraise, which was oversubscribed and exceeded its target of USD500 million.    The BlackRock Investment Institute estimates that the world needs to invest USD1 trillion annually into low-carbon projects in developing countries in order to achieve a just transition to a net zero global economy.
